Heyuan International Youth Hostel Reviews

Too many people, too few foreigners, feels more like a hotel than a hostel. Some of the staff are really excellent; they save the place. Near a subway stop. A major complaint is not their fault - there are no English bus maps/schedules available anywhere. Without buses for transport, one has a bit of a problem. Subways in Beijing are great tho.

Excellent for summer, in winter, there might be cold in the room (and specially in bathroom) even if you'll run air conditioner. Despite this little inconvenience its a fantastic place with very nice atmosphere which is situated in not so popular part of Beijing, where you can taste the real character of this city.; )

Very good place, everything is very clean, and looks like they referbish all facilities inside. Very nice garden inside!

I would not return. This place was more of a dorm for Chinese students who did not want to live in the dormitory at the nearby university.

Building structure is very nice, in a si he yuan style. But staff not very friendly and cleanliness was just so-so. And the common area always being occupied by its own staff.

The location of the hostel was just perfect, close to the subway and easy to find. The staff was speaking English very fluently and was very helpful. The room was clean and warm. We were able to find a tour to the Great Wall from there. The food was good and it's a good place to meet other travellers. We will recomand the place. Thank you ! Janine and Mike from Canada.

i enjoyed a lot my stay at the hostel. the only thing is thqt the common bathroom, standard, was always wet, some people take showers and dont close the curtain and there is nothing at hand to help dry the place. The rest was excellent. You feel at home being in a place like that. Thank you for being for nice to us.

It was a very pleasant stay with friendly staff. Not very much breakfast but a good surrounding, many restaurants and a very typical chinese traditional living area. Would come again.

I'd stayed at this hostel before so knew it was very clean (in private rooms, dorms are okay though), in a good location and that the staff were friendly and helpful. I wasn't at all disappointed second time around and found both of our rooms spotlessly clean, the hostel was nice and peaceful and a great place to unwind after a busy day exploring. I took my family (parents and siblings) and they were all satisfied with the location, security and cleanliness of the hostel. A great place to stay!

The atmosphere wasn't too good, very quiet but the other travellers were very nice . Staff were excellent and speak very good english. The hostel can help with train tickets. Rooms and bathrooms very clean with good security through entire hostel. Location is great, only 5 minutes walk from Metro station. Got a taxi my first night and it helps to have the address written in Chinese and phone number of hostel - taxi driver couldn't find the hostel its down an alley.

very pleasant stay!

Thumbs up to this one on my part. I did a two bed ensuite and it was terrific i also checked out the shared bathroom facilities and the were in terrific shape. One downside is that you need to pay for some small stuff like towels and so on but that's ok i did pack some myself. Rooms get cleaned daily and bedings changed on request :)) Wonderful location, close to the subway and walking distance to Xihai which is nice. Cool yard and a nice enviroment with cheerful guests at the time :)).

I loved the staff and the character of the hostel. Everybody is really social and friendly. I slept in a 6ppl room and it was nice but the walls were covered with fungus - which for me wasn't to pleasant. My friends single room in the other hand was very high standard - especially for the low price!
