No safe place to lock your things, and while the place does get cleaned daily it just really needs to be redone. Bathrooms still look gross even after cleaning. One of the staff was awesome, but the one who worked in the afternoon didn't know anything. Also a major problem for us was clientele. It was full of lots of surfer dudes who smoked pot nonstop. Definitely the grossest hostel of my trip, wouldn't stay there again.

I really enjoyed Casa del Gingi and it definitely was influenced by the hostel's set-up. The 10+ hammocks on the property were so great and the kitchen was nice. The staff was really great too! I would have liked having a locker but the rooms themselves did lock. I would definitely recommend the hostel!!

Bathrooms were filthy, some of the staff were great but one in particular said he would call and book a shuttle for us and then told us the night before we were supposed to catch the shuttle that there wasn't one available. We went to a nearby travel agent to try to find an alternative route to our next destination and found out that the hostel staff member had lied to us and just didn't feel like calling.

Santa Teresa is a place for surfers. I dont surf. But i still loved it here and that was thanks to Hostel Seven. Good prices, nice hangouts, you meet great people and the staff is just awesome! (They talk english aswell for you who needs that)

Santa teresa is mainly visited by backpackers in their 20's - 30's from around the world for the many great surfing spots in that area. As a man in my fifties, I am one of the exceptions and staying at a surfing hostel could have been an unpleasant experience however all of the staff and many of the young guests made me feel very welcomed, especially Gingi himself. The hostel has all the amenities necessary to live comfortably and they offer bicycle and surfboard rentals.

Cleanliness depends a lot on the clientele. Unfortunately, with hostels, many visitors are very ignorant about the mess they leave behind for others to deal with.

Really great location and awesome staff who make you feel at home. Cool people from all over the world and an awesome atmosphere to hang out all day, lounge in the hammocks, and wander over to the beach or the dozens of nearby restaurants. I've already been back once and will probably be back again soon!

I really appreciated the upgrade to the nice apartment for the one night; however, not at the expense of being reprimanded and talked down to like a child after simply mentioning that the air conditioning was not working, the third bed had not arrived, and there was a terrible odor in the room. I was not at all rude to your staff member and simply questioned what we could do about those things, looking for a solution. I never said anything rude or unappreciative. I did not deserve your rudeness

This place was awesome. There was so much to do around the hostel and the staff were very helpful. Anything we asked them about they were more than happy to help with. Too bad Santa Teresa is so dusty cause we'd love to stay longer.

I really recommend this hostel, very nice chill out spots, nice hammocks... Staff was awsame!!! they really help you enjoy your stay. The hostel is very nice, they lack some things, but the same happens in most of the hostels of the town.

I had a very good time at hostel seven for the forth time in 3 years. You would think that the place will stay the same or go old, but the owner renew it every year and it's the cleanest hostel in central america that I've been to.

Nice hostel with a beautiful garden with hammocks, friendly people and stuff only the chef seemed a little bit strikt. The dorms and the kitchen are not that beautiful, they are cold, white and without any details. Anyway We had a nice stay, because we spent most of our time outside and met nice people.

If you're looking for a "party hostel" then this is a good choice. I wanted something more low key so this wasn't great for my purposes. I was kept up until 3am by loud music and yelling one night and it wasn't much better on the other nights. Facilities are fine and clean. Staff is awesome. Location is good for playa carmen, but pretty far from actual santa teresa. The outdoor area is nice: lots of hammocks for relaxing after returning from the beach. In general, a good "surf" environment.

Home away from home! Very friendly staff that really knows the area! I booked only for one night, but once you get there its really hard to leave! I guess that's why its starting to get the nickname "one more night hostel" Gingi and his staff are very friendly and promote the gatherings of all guests. Great way to meet new people from all over the world! I will definetly come back. Keep it up Hostel 7!
