Overall not somewhere I would return to in a hurry both to the place and the hostel. Santa Teresa is clearly engineered to a very specific type of tourist and all the activities and prices there reflect that. The hostel in itself is ok (the rooms are clean and functional and the staff are friendly) but gets a zero on the social front- potentially I was just out of season but there is no bar, no activities put together and virtually zero other people there to socialise or do things with.

Stayed for a week in July. Staff was really nice, room was comfortable with AC, and the location is good. Surfing can be found right in front of the hostal or a 15 min beach walk to playa Carmen which is a little easier. I would recommend
