Location and security were good, but that's where the good things ended. The hostel added tax/service charge on to everything....even 10% of the "free" breakfast. Room in the loft was pretty unbearable for most of the day and looked more like a refugee camp than a dorm room. Only stayed there because all other hostels were full.

Each of us are disappointed to read that you found your stay here uncolmfortable you expressed during your time no dissatisfaction whats over with us, and quite the contrary, we all found you quite a pleasant guest. You were informed beforehand, about Guatemalan taxes, and even provided a link to the goverment site explaning all of this in detail. As to the upstairs loft, all though it is currently basic accolmodation (we are soon remodeling), the beds are new and comfortable and you were at all able to move downstairs into our deluxe dorms if the loft did not suit your taste. Our staff works hard to please our guest and were tuly shocked to read that our staff is not up to your standards, also when you expressed only positive energy during your stay. We wish the best on your future travels , and intend to take a interest in guest satisfaction more.

Hostel does try to promote a social atmosphere, but I didn't like somethings. Yes they need to protect their investment by plastic wrapping the beds, but it's noisy to sleep on. Webcams in the room to prevent theft, but aren't aimed in the room. Taxes are extra and a 10% tip manditory on service. Other hostels include it in their prices. They open a tab during your stay, rather pay as I go. I like that you get a locker with a socket to charge devices. Overall more expensive than other hostels.

Hi, We truly enjoyed your stay with us. We appreciate that you took the time to write a review for our hostel, and only wish that you had spent an equal amount of time expressing the things you enjoyed and appreciated about your five day stay with us. Maybe about our great free breakfast choices, our welcoming staff, the cleanliness of the hostel, the care we take to ensure the safety of our guests... I am sure you have particular things you personally enjoyed during your stay here and although we understand it is easier for people to relay only thier disappointments, in all fairness it is appreciated when our guests write a balanced review sharing both things we could improve on as well as the things we are doing well; I am sure you understand this! ;) By the way, our prices have since been reduced by almost 20%, and we are still offering our free breakfasts and free wifi etc. Again, our staff truly enjoyed having you with us and hope you return to stay with us if you ever return to beautiful Antigua. Thanks again for taking the time to write a review for the Jungle Party!!
