Great place. Rooms were narrow but very clean. It is close to most of the major sights. Reception was very helpful. Would stay again.

The location is fantastic! Right in the heart of downtown Seoul. They provide great directions on how to find the hostel, right down to what bus to catch/land marks to follow to the hostel. We booked a dorm room but were given a private instead! So happy about that! If I return to Seoul I will definitely stay at Khaosan Insadong.

Highly recommended for the location. Non-picky travellers may find this hostel ok. I've stayed in a lot of hostels all over the world and sadly this is the gloomiest I've been to. We had a hard time sleeping again when we woke in the middle of the night. Needless to say we were not comfortable here. My friend and I have to cancel the rest of our stay to transfer to another hotel. Kudos though for the staff for being so nice and understanding.

Quite a pleasant stay, staff are very helpful and all facilities are in good condition except the atmosphere which is a bit too dark.

Khaosan Seoul Insadong's location was a HUGE plus point! Situated in an alley right beside Exit 15 of Jongno 3-ga, it takes less than a minute to get to the metro station, which gives access to 3 metro lines! Unparalleled convenience for those of you who intend to travel on the metro. Moreover, Choi speaks English fluently and was able to provide me with all sorts of advice with regard to my travel plans. Had a very memorable 5-night stay there & will definitely be back on my next trip to Seoul!

Looks like a hotel instead of a hostel. Common room is not comfortable, and no fully equiped kitchen.

Very good hostel

This guesthouse is basically an old hotel that has been converted into a hostel. They even use the old hotel keys and towels. So his means that the rooms are small, clean and efficient. It doesn't have much character but it's a good place to get a cheap private room in a good neighborhood. It can be a little hard to find as it's down a rather dark back street. The common room is small but has good facilities. The beds are hard but clean. My biggest annoyance was the micro-fridge was noisy.

I loved staying here. The hostel was very good, affordable, well-located (just meters away a quite big tube station with three metro lines) and had all we needed. Choi (in charge) was very helpful at all times as we had some problems (because of flight cancellations from the airline on our way there, and also last-minute when coming back). I don't think I can say anything else than just recommend this place and hope that it keeps being as good as it was for us :D

My wife and I stayed for four nights. It was a great hostel. A new hostel, very clean, good heater. It also has air cond and big flat TV in the room. The room is small though but perhaps standard in hostel term (first time staying in a hostel). You can't beat the location, superb! Most of all, the receptionist (which is also the co-owner) was very friendly and always willing to help. He speaks very good English.

Very helpful staff, great location right in the center of town so you can do most sightseeing by food. The kitchen/common room is underground with no window so we did not stay to long in there. A place to recommend - we would go back!

Great location and literally a few steps from the subway station. The hostel is only a few months old and the facilities are nice. To get to the common area, you have to exit the hostel and head towards the basement. The common area is comfortable with free coffee and tea. There are four computer stations available for internet access. Great location for gay bars.
