L'ostello non era male di per se. Il problema maggiore sono stati i servizi annessi. In

I was really pleased with this hostel. We booked a double room which had a nice comfy bed. Showers were hot and there was even a hairdryer on the wall of the bathroom! Bar seemed pretty pricey but maybe that's just Shanghai.

Very good common room, nicely decorated. Double room (with shared bathroom) very ran down and tiny. Noisy as facing a street alley, but I suppose you should expect noises straight in the middle of Shanghai ! Expensive cooked breakfast, often cold and not meeting Western standards in terms of quantity although prices did...Excellent location between the French Concession and People's Place.

Nice hostel. Great bar and common area (aesthetically). Nicely located (only a ten min walk from Nanjing road). Staff were nice but oddly closed the bar before 12 every night even though the closing time stated 1am. Found it difficult to sense a decent atmosphere here. Food was good however and they had a good selection of European bottled beers!!!. On the whole, can't really complain.

I always stay here when i visit shanghai (about once a month). Its a great hostel. The crowd is a little older, which means quieter nights and earlier mornings. The location is fantastic, fairly easy to find and with street food and inexpensive massage nearby. The info book at the front desk is incredibly helpful and the bar/resto is delicious and reasonable. Overall an A+ establishment.

Great location, many places to visit around. Hostel staff was nice and they spoke pretty good English. Room was nicely designed and spending 2 days there was a very comfortable experience.

the crowd that stays here have been consistently young obnoxious "frist trip abroad" kids with whom it is hell sharing accommodations with. I've been here several times and I wont be back because of the lame guests and unresponsive staff. The cafe is flashy but the internet is not as good as it should be.

Was a great stay!!! You are super close to People's Square and the big shopping district street, but with out all the noise. I would come back and stay again anytime.

The staff is ok. Not so warm but not impolite either. The hostel has a very charming bar in the middle with deck, so it's very nice to spend a few hours talking to someone up there. The location is also good, it's ON people's square, there are lot's of things going on there and from that point you can go anywhere by subway...

I live in Jin Shan, so when I come to stay in the city, I always stay at Mingtown. The location and character are great! Very convenient! Breakfast is definitely worth it!

We never thought that between all these skyscrapers we would find such a nice and quiet place with plants and plenty of places to hang out. Perfect location close to East Nanjing Road and People`s Square. The rooms are cosy and clean. And the breakfast was delicious! We would definitely come back!

Hostel is located in the city center, but it's not so easy to find it if you don't have a very detailed map. Rooms are very nice and clean but staff is far from being helpful- they pretend to be very nice, but all in all thaey don't know about anything and do not bother to check it, as they seem to be "busy" all the time. There are definitely better hostels in Shanghai.
