Excellent location, close to people's park metro and very central. Excellent coffee, cool bar area.
Really nice place to stay. Gotta love the little pond in the garden. Very nice atmosphere. Room was good and clean, nevertheless little loud in the morning because of slamming doors (it was not possible to close the doors silently) but other than that, everything was perfect.
Not much interaction with staff. It would be nice to have a light bright enough in room for reading/writing. However, common areas were comfy and suitable for this. Food was good; North American prices. A reflection of Shanghai? All in all, a satisfying stay.
This is not the first time I stayed at Mingtown Etour Shanghai, nor the last. Excellent location with walking distance to everything in downtown, plus metro and bus connections. The hostel in itself is really charismatic I think. A little garden in the middle of the hostel and a great lounge where you can have breakfast, meals and drinks for totally OK prices.
Loved the hostel and the bar but the facilities could be better. Better light in the room and a working wifi in the third floor would be nice:).
Good hostel with average facilities. Helpful staff and good location!
Cosy hostel and cheapest option in Tokyo.
A very good hostel with a cool bar attached. It had good showers and was bang in the middle of where you wanted to be in Shanghai. The staff were pretty stand-offish, but then we didn't really need them to be fair.
Great hostel with one of the best common areas in any hostel I have stayed. They shared bathroom double rooms were good, rooms are a bit old and could do with a spruce up including some better lighting, but bed and pillows were fine and towels included.
5mins walking to metro station. never suffer from facilities or cleaness. Kind staffs with good lingual ability.
I enjoyed my staying here! This place is so wonderful! Thank you for everything!
The hostel is in a great location, within easy walking distance of the Bund, East Nanjing Road, French Concession, People's Park etc. It has a nice atmosphere with a quiet courtyard and terrace, and a comfortable bar serving reasonably priced good food. The Wifi is good throughout the hostel and staff are welcoming and helpful. My only problems were that shared bathrooms and dorm rooms were not quite as clean as they could have been and no locks were provided for the lockers within the rooms.
Little bit cold at night! Otherwise great!
Fun hostel. Nice cafe, and clean rooms. Literally right beside the People's square, so if you want to be near all the popular sights near the square, you can roll right out of bed to see the museum, the Bund, the People's park, etc.
There were only two lockers that worked in my 6 bed dorm. . The location is excellent 5 mins walk from people square. What spoiled my experience was the attitude of the staff, I found it to be poor and rude. One guy who works on reception in the mornings is very nice and helpful, one female receptionist was extremely rude to me, and completely unapproachable with an attitude problem.I couldn't believe it when they refused to boil an egg for me! I mean how difficult is it?
Bed wasn't the best. But I wasn't there too sleep. Great location. Right next to Peoples Square and if you like walking you can walk everywhere from there or take a short subway trip
