Mingtown Nanjing Road Youth Hostel has a very high rating on Hostelworld for its location and it's no wonder; the hostel is close to Nanjing Road, People's Square and the Bund. It's also near East Nanjing Rd metro station, making it 'convenient if you're coming from either Pudong or Hongqiao as the metro line near this hostel directly connects to both airports', according to one of our visitors. Travellers tell us this hostel is modern, 'clean and well kept', 'surrounded by many cheap restaurants' and features a common kitchen, air conditioning and heating and 'good...solid wood' lockers.

Mingtown Nanjing Road Youth Hostel is the fourth hostel of Mingtown, ideally located in the most central area of Shanghai.
All major attractions are within short walking distance from our doorstep.Such as, Nanjing Road , the Bund, People Square, Shanghai old town(Yu Garden) etc. The metro line 2 East nanjing station is just 2 minutes walking distance to our hostel. We offer clean and comfortable accommodation at affordable rates and the discounts to guests with HI cards.
Our hostel has the the elevator.All rooms are equipped with security key card access, hot/cold air conditioning. Our dorm rooms are equipped with security lockers, individual lights, and power outlets. Safety deposit boxes are available at reception. We also offer free short-term luggage storage.It's a wonderful hostel and welcome to our hostel!

Two things: Avoid booking rooms on the 5th floor, as the elevator only goes to the 4th, and internet doesn't always work on the 5th. Also, internet connection was very spotty, and went out all the time. Otherwise, it's a great place, good atmosphere, great location, good food, I would highly recommend it.
