Two things: Avoid booking rooms on the 5th floor, as the elevator only goes to the 4th, and internet doesn't always work on the 5th. Also, internet connection was very spotty, and went out all the time. Otherwise, it's a great place, good atmosphere, great location, good food, I would highly recommend it.

Super clean. Very comfortable. Great location and competitive price. The only thing is that the directions to the hostel might be a little outdated. The A11 does indeed pass by on Hennessy Road, but there is no Fire Station stop as the hostel website says.

Nice place, but not a lot of character, and there isn't a lot of information about what do to in Shanghai. The staff are friendly but nothing special. But good beds, lockers, lots of showers, bar and restaurant, everything ok.

Location is great, and the place is very clean and nice. It's full of little details that brighten your day, and the staff are always nice and helpful. They let us leave our bags at the hostel while we traveled around Anhui province for 4 days, wich was really helpful. We also stayed at Hangzhou Mingtown hostel, and it was also awesome and with great location.

The hostel was a breath of fresh air. It was clean and had a fun and chill backpacker atmosphere that was very welcoming after spending the holiday in a busy busy Beijing. The staff was helpful and our two bed room was clean, bright and the bathroom was great! It was crazy to have a comfortable bed in China with not one but two pillows! Very happy with our stay and cannot wait to come back. One suggestion is to have free city maps available for guests.

Good place, near the commercial area of Shanghai and not far from the Bund. The hostel was clean but each dormitory room was really to small for 6 bed. Especially when you stay with 4 other too young guys that leave their own dirty clothes all around the room. the smell left me breathless !!

Excellent location, stone's throw away from two metro lines (including the one that takes you to the airport), walking distance to the bund and surrounds. Clean and comfortable setup, earnest staff. No complaints really

The ensuite room was a bit humid and there was a bad smell in the bathroom. Otherwise everything was fine.

guys, i just can say thanks for the service of you staff, and the great place that you have, i really enjoyed my stay there and for sure i will stay there again.. Note, just be little more clear in the direction when you get out form the subway, we got lost for around 5 minutes trying to find it, but after that, nothing else to say, just thanks.

Had a terrific time staying at this location. Have stayed twice there since, would recommend. Rooms are clean (have seen only one roach, but it happens), long lasting hot water, easy to get to, and friendly staff. Recommended it to all my friends as well.

wifi did not work well. staff said it did. over all good hostel but rooms a bit small for 6 people. not much space. if the hostel lets people live there permanent and the room/floor is full of these oeopkes stuff, they should not rent this room/dormbed to a traveller! you cannot di this and when everything is full, the floor cannot be ckeaned.

it's a great value for the female dorm one in shanghai:) I extended for a couple of days from my original plan. the youth hostel's really close to the metro so quite easy to get around & explore other part of Shanghai. the staffs were really helpful. One improvement though, maybe they're just a little bit careless for it (I suppose), I notice they didn't change the bed linen for one other guest (coz she checked in a little bit earlier, but if she's not complained why should I? LOL )

The double rooms on the 2nd floor are nice (we stayed there before). For the same price we were put on the 3rd floor. the room smelled awful. It was damp and much smaller and older than the rooms on the 2nd floor which are the same price. It also was pretty dirty.

Excellent hostel, we stayed in the deluxe double bed room and it was the best so far in China. It was very clean and had a lot of space. Very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious but it takes some time until they serve it.

Overall a very nice place, excellent location, nice staff, clean. As a suggestion: you might want to try not to mix europeans with chinese in the rooms, due to the cultural differencies and language barriers.
