For a quick one night stay in a private room the accommodations were great. The rooms were clean, comfortable, with a nice big bathroom, and seemingly safe. We didn't use much of the facilities except for the lobby for wifi and a few drinks but the location can't be beat.

Great accomodation, cleaner than most of chinese hostels, good atmosphere and really close to the metro and some of the most interesting tourist attractions in Shanghai.

Pro: Room relatively clean. noise level low. Con: Wi-fi doesn't work well with laptops. Lobby has a weird stench. Overall good.

Excellent hostel, near everything and super safe! I've stayed at this hostel twice and highly recommend it to anyone. They have 2 communal areas where you can meet other travelers and a little bar area for food and drinks. Its clean and secure. Whether your traveling alone or with friends I highly recommend it.

The location makes this hostel. It's really easy to walk to all major central sites. The hostel does smell quite a bit and the staff were sometimes very helpful and other times not so. It is good value for the price though.

4nights in a twin private. Nice room, cleanliness, wifi, commun room, facilities outside (restaurants, shops...), very close from Nanjing street. Anything to say, no problem and good value price/location/quality. I often come to Shanghai, this time I find a good place and I'll be back for sure !

If you are looking for a place with a great staff and good atmosphere , it is not a place for you !!! If you are looking for a place well located , it is the place to stay. The 6 beds room was small but clean. Staff not so friendly ... No internet in the room ! Security is very good as you get your own locker and magnetic card to get into the room. I won't recommend this place as I won't go back there ;). 3 nights max in Shanghai are good enough to visit around ...

I got the 6 beds mixed dorm room. The room is tiny! Beds are ok and it is quiet clean. A bit noisy, depending on who you get next door. Staff, atmosphere, caracter is really so so. If you need help, look for Leila ... Lockers in the room , and you get into your room with a magnetic card ( good security ). You will probably need to find out by yourself about things to do as the staff is not really willing to help in this field. Mainly choose this place for its location in Shanghai...

If you want to be right in the thick of it, this is the place to stay. Very buzzy atmosphere, and the private room we stayed in was gorgeous - we were really surprised, especially given the cheap price. Very minimalist, but spacious and beautiful! Alas, my husband was sick the entire time, so we spent many hours in that room, but I would definitely stay there again.

I saw a cockrach in bathroom. the host had promised to me she would rearrange the bed , but she didin't keep the word. I even didn't need to say again because i was so disappointed that hostel.

Small rooms, but excellent location 2mins walk from metro station with good links to both airports. Probably more suitable for short stopovers than long stays. Generally clean rooms and bathrooms though slightly lacking in atmosphere!

I enjoyed my stay at Mingtown Nanjing Youth Hostel, the room was nice and cozy. What I didn't like at all was that there was no internet in the rooms. They told me they didn't because they want people to interact in the common areas they have, but for that purpose they could do activites; Internet nowadays is necessary and a lot of people need it to work. Despite that, my stay was good and the staff was really nice.

Staff were rude as hell. Lookout for the noodle nazi at reception, won't let people eat noodles on the ground floor. I'm done I tell ya. This place is good as a last resort. Only positive was the babe across the road at the little restaurant. Stay elsewhere if possible. Cheers
