Artistically designed hostel. Staff was pleasant and helped out when needed. Room was comfortable clean and the duvet cover was a big comfy pleasure. Bustling produce/fish/meat market next to the hostel. A bit noisy in the mornings and slight odor lingered in the air but nothing to the extent that would ruin your stay. Good food and cheap Tsingtao beer! Laundry on the 4th floor was a treat.

Great hostel in Shanghai. Amazing bar/restaurant area that is cheap with good western food. Looks and smells grim from the outside but inside is nothing like and is defo worth a stay! Only downside was the staff spoke poor English so couldn't really help.

The only issues were the noise levels at night since the walls were paper thin and a weird damp smell everywhere.

Very noisy hostel. If as like me you hate to be woken up in the morning by some random noises, you should not go there.

unpleasant. The morning I left no front desk staf was on duty n I was told by a staff the receptionist was on the way to work in 10 minutes. After that I was told another 20 min but still no one show up.Finally they told me actually they couldn't contact the receptionist n no idea would anyone work today.I left my contact at the front desk for deposit return because my schedule was already late for 30 min.But in email, they insist it is ME to pay the bank charge because my bank is not a local bank

walk around 10 minutes to metro, very good location. staffs are kind but seems this hostel control the time of checkin and hot water show, if you get up early before 7am or back later than 2am, no hot water shower. even worse the day i stayed, hot water stopped after 10pm.

Good location, friendly staff. The rooms are very nicely decorated and comfortable. Hot water and air condition is only available at certain times though. All in all good value for the money.

Terrible! Do not stay here! I checked in early in the morning after an overnight stay in the airport, and I just wanted to sleep. The moment I walked in, I noticed that the entire building smelled like rotten fish. Not only that, but the receptionist couldn't give me a working room key. I didn't get an apology or anything; she just told me I had to wait until someone in my room checked out. Dirty place. Unfriendly staff. I checked out early because it was gross.

It was almost a PERFECT STAY!! I arrived extremely late at night from Pudong Airport and the night bus stop was just a block and a street away from the hostel! There was just a guard who couldn't speak English at this time of the night. He was a very nice guy though and I could manage getting my bed thanks to my poor Chinese...

I did't stay at the hostel because it looked so poor from the outside, unlike the picture shown on the internet !!!! so I said to myself: if the inside looks like the outside, I better run away.... which I did !

I only stayed here for a few nights because it was convenient and I was too exhausted to move to another hostel. I didn't like the staff - they weren't friendly and whenever I asked for directions they would just tell me to look at a map. Also some of the staff smoke inside the hostel, which is really unpleasant.

i love decorating style in the hostel. Shower room is clean. My room is tiny and messy (because of others who lived before). internet has good signal in public area; living room, reception but can't use in my room. Location is ok, can go to attraction place by walk.

Well decorated hostel, located in a fair location given nearby to market & convenience store. Some staff are really helpful and friendly, there is one that give a bad impression with a bad attitude. Also the night guard uncle smoke his cigg in the lobby even though we are still sitting there using the wifi. Room is nice and clean except the bed sheet have little stains. Overall is good given with the pricing.

It is well located in the city you can really walk to anywhere, including Nanjing Rd., Wai Tan, the Old Street, Yuyuan Garden, and Xintiandi (I went to all of these on foot). It is also easy to find a place to eat around. Staff were very helpful. The room was nice and cute (I stayed in en suite private twin room). Strongly recommend because it was worth the money.
