The staff were extremely helpful-picked us up at the airport on time despite our plane being delayed. The location was perfect for sight seeing and entertainment and the staff could not have been more helpful-organising very reasonable day trips, looking after our luggage when we went away and providing a very filling breakfast. Highly recommend!

Very nice hostel, no problems at all. The staff were helpful, and had lots of information readily available. The computers accessed Facebook too which was great!

Pretty good hostel. The younger woman is very nice and helpful while the older man seemed not so eager to help. Pickup from the airport went smoothly and breakfast was good, though avoid the pancakes.

NgocThao is a perfect base for exploring Ho Chi Minh city and environs. It is located in the heart of the backpacker district, in close proximity to many tourist sights and the bus station. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable, and go out of their way to help you. They have many tour options available - for instance the Cu Chi tunnel day trip for a cheap $5. We had a private room in the hostel which was spacious, secure and clean. A good breakfast is included (eggs, pancakes etc.).

Don't use the taxi pickup...they took me to the wrong place....not happy...I had to walk the rest of the way...and it is $12...a taxi ride should cost about 5 dollars US from the airport to New Pham Lao.

Definitely a good hostel to stay at. Staff is very friendly and helpful with answering questions and giving recommendations for the traveler on a light budget. The atmosphere feels very much like a home-stay with the owner's family milling about during the day. The mixed dorm room itself is pretty standard fare with fairly firm twin size beds. There is A/C in the rooms but it seems it's only on from I think 10pm-9pm where they switch to fans during the day in the room.

This is a very nice hostel in Pham Ngu Lao St., I've stayed here for 3 nights in a 4 beds mix dormitory, 4 people share one bathroom with A/C, beds and bathroom are clean. The price includes breakfast. They have a big table in the lobby, each morning, travelers share foods together. The atmosphere is quite nice. Staffs are friendly, many of them speak good English. It's a very good option to stay here.

The room was clean and well maintained. Better than what i had expected. Ideal location as it is close to several cafes and restaurants and within walking distance to the places of interest like the Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral. Owner is friendly and helpful too.

The staff were really helpful and honest. I found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable and the room was quiet too which is always a big thing for me.

Such a great experience! Super clean, everything is newish and works well. Free breakfast is fantastic, and the staff are super helpful in booking buses and tours and things. Lockers in the dorm rooms, and the bathroom is outside, so people don't wake you up when they use it. Great place... I'd stay there again if I ever end up in HCMC again, and my 5 friends would say the same!

The staff was very helpful with offering times and options for things to see and do. The airport pickup service was a little expensive, but made coming from the airport very easy, especially since the streets of HCMC can be confusing to someone who does not know where they are going. The price to have a taxi waiting for us in the morning was reasonable (half of pickup since it was one way). Location was great. It was about a 5 minute walk from the Ben Than Market.

The only negative things I have to say is that the bed was really hard and there was breakfast included but we were not informed so we never received it. All in all the room was clean and in a perfect location. Also they gave a really nice map of all the attractions which was really helpful.

Good hostel with helpful staff. The common area is often used by the staff, but our room had an upstairs balcony which was nice. It's a great location, walkable to most of the sites in the city. Staff was very helpful in organizing day tours and / or bus trips to your next destination. Airport pickup was a nice service.
