It was good like each time!

This place is like a spa retreat feel! Great for finding a quieter place outside the craziness of Shanghai but it's a little out of the way! Be careful you pay attention or it's easy to get lost. But the place was amazing for a hostel price! I would recommend and stay there again!

The reviews saying this hostel feels more like a hotel are absolutely right. The lobby is gorgeous but not very social. There is a great dining room to grab some food and drinks but you can't bring any outside food in and mosquitos are killer. Rooms are very small. All the showers are in one area on 3rd floor, only a few toilets per floor, wifi is very troublesome and unreliable. Open air entrance so anyone can walk in. 100元 key card deposit. Very close to metro, pharmacy, convenience store, etc

Strange about this hostel is that you have to pay for a city map and if you want to change your towel for a clean one. The worst was that there is no toilet paper on the toilet. You first have to get some toilet paper in the bathroom before you go to the toilet. A real strange system. Also the internet connection is terribble. And also the guy at the desk doesn't really seem to like helping guests. If they take a look at hostels outside China they can see how it's easy to make it a better hostel

Great hostel with beautiful common room and helpful staff. Twin rooms were clean with towels provided. The price was great value and the common room is a welcoming place to meet people. Near metro and the half price coffee was great. Tip, dont leave dirty mops in buckets downstairs. Other than that the place is clean

Fantastic hostel! Awesome vibe in the communal area. Rooms adequate and nice and clean. Air con throughout which is great. Only downside that it's in quite a quiet area but this doesn't really matter as its so close to the metro station. I would stay here again!

I had a nice experience in Shanghai with this hostel.

A beautiful place to stay in Shanghai.

Nice clean hostel with good facilities in a great neighborhood. Like most HI hostels, this place is run more like a large hotel than a hostel and there isn't much atmosphere to speak of. Staff was helpful but pretty cold.

internet in the room can not work.

the staffs speak english quiet well. it is really good thing but the hostel's location is bad actually. if you're looking for just place to sleep, then this hostel will be good choice. but If you want more relax time and place, you should avoid dormitory. the best thing was queit room.

Stayed in a double room. This hostel has great facilities, the bar/restaurant/communal area is a really nice space. Especially with decking and water features. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Only few 5-10 mins walk from station. Would definitely book this place again next time we are in Shanghai.

Good value, friendly staff, handy location.

The room was a bit cramped, but there were plenty of bathrooms/showers, and the place was clean. It seems a little ways out, but I found staying just off of metro line 2 extremely convenient for both site seeing and getting in/out by plane/train. It does have more of a hotel than hostel atmosphere, but I enjoyed staying here and would stay here again.

great common area, really lovely set up. basic double rooms are a little stuffy; not sure how to change this though! We arrived and our room had not been cleaned BUT the staff apologised for this which was very professional of them.

Great set up and rooms. Great common area to meet people. But when I was there, no one talked to each other. 20 people in the common room, all busy with their electronics. I tried inviting people places but everyone seemed to keep to themselves. Had not encountered that before - probably the mix of people there when I was. Also, I had 2 long term girls in my room that stayed in the room the entire weekend.

The place can be tricky to find because it's down an alley. The bar is cool and the food is really good. The staff at reception are awful. They just don't care and are really rude and unhelpful to you. That said, the guy and girl who work the bar most of the time are completely different and will chat and have fun with you. The rooms are grand and the showers could be cleaner but do the job. They clean the place so well though in reception and the bar though so it's spotless.

Security - Very safe area and hotel, felt great. Location - Not as close as expected from city center but easy to find and get. Staff - Good people, reception desk and restaurant staff really friendly. Atmosphere - Maybe one of the prettiest and most exclusive looking hostels I've ever stayed, beautiful inside and outside area. Cleanliness - Excellent, rooms very tide. VfM - A bit pricey but I guess that's all about Shanghai. Facilities - Nothing special, average.
