The hostel has a great atmosphere - the downstairs chilling area is really comfortable, homely and is a great place to meet people. My single room was basic but had everything everything I needed - A/C worked, the fridge was super cold (good for chilling water!), shower was hot...what more can you ask for? Additionally the location is pretty good..the whole backpacker area in HCMC is squeezed into a pretty small area so all the tourist amenities are close by.

Bad location, middle of an alley, not too safe at night. Despite that, staff was really friendly, breakfast was good and there was coffee and tea avaliable all day.

Stayed in a mixed 4 bed dorm for 4 nights. The room was clean and with air conditioning, a bit small tho. Super helpful staff, good free breakfast. You can easily book anything there. I would stay there again.

If you want to be in the centre of the backpacker district this is perfect. Vey clean, basic breakfast (but sufficient) and helpful staff with good map and directions. Slightly strange bathroom in that the ventilation came from a gap at the top of the wall that was shared with the neighbouring bathroom. No problem if you keep the bathroom door closed when not in use.

The private single room I booked was hilariously small--it was a twin-sized bed in length and a twin-sized bed plus how wide the door needs to swing open in width. Other than that, this hostel has probably been the most lively and attractive place I have ever seen. If you like waking up at 7:30 to Edward Sharpe music blasting and everyone gathering around eating breakfast, this is the place for you.

Very helpful and friendly staffs. You can go straight to the kitchen and get yourself a drink. Water, tea and coffee are always available. The room I stayed was clean and tidy. However, there was significant smell of chlorine bleach in the bathroom.

The location is pretty good, you can come back late and still get it. The dorm room was not too bad, but they did not clean the bathroom for several days! And it's a little too small. I thought it was a little to pricey. Yes, "breakfast is included" but it's not enough and very basic. The staff was very nice.

Nice spacious clean dorm rooms. Really good location. There are lots of guest house in this area around the same price and cheaper so can get a better deal shopping around but I enjoyed my stay here

Tiny little rooms for the standard twin. You can barely fit your luggage, but its alright if you have a sense of humor. Hot water works and the air conditioning was perfect in our room. Luggage storage wasn't locked up, its just is in the kitchen and open to people walking through. The gal at the front desk spoke very minimal english but tried sooooooo hard to help us out...we would recommend this hostel though.

Nice place to stay in a little alley really quiet. Small room, but it's Saigon. Small common area but perfect to meet nice people! If I have the chance to go back for sure I'll go back there! Staff really nice and helpful!

The greatest thing about Saigon Youth Hostel is the Location as its in the middle of backpackers area and very accessible to all that you need like tour agency, cafe & bars, bank (ATM), money changer, shops and walking distance to nearby attraction. Room are clean and has the basic that you need. If the reception will be more effective this will be fantastic place to stay during your trip.
