If you want to be in the centre of the backpacker district this is perfect. Vey clean, basic breakfast (but sufficient) and helpful staff with good map and directions. Slightly strange bathroom in that the ventilation came from a gap at the top of the wall that was shared with the neighbouring bathroom. No problem if you keep the bathroom door closed when not in use.

The private single room I booked was hilariously small--it was a twin-sized bed in length and a twin-sized bed plus how wide the door needs to swing open in width. Other than that, this hostel has probably been the most lively and attractive place I have ever seen. If you like waking up at 7:30 to Edward Sharpe music blasting and everyone gathering around eating breakfast, this is the place for you.

Very helpful and friendly staffs. You can go straight to the kitchen and get yourself a drink. Water, tea and coffee are always available. The room I stayed was clean and tidy. However, there was significant smell of chlorine bleach in the bathroom.

Tiny little rooms for the standard twin. You can barely fit your luggage, but its alright if you have a sense of humor. Hot water works and the air conditioning was perfect in our room. Luggage storage wasn't locked up, its just is in the kitchen and open to people walking through. The gal at the front desk spoke very minimal english but tried sooooooo hard to help us out...we would recommend this hostel though.

The greatest thing about Saigon Youth Hostel is the Location as its in the middle of backpackers area and very accessible to all that you need like tour agency, cafe & bars, bank (ATM), money changer, shops and walking distance to nearby attraction. Room are clean and has the basic that you need. If the reception will be more effective this will be fantastic place to stay during your trip.

Place is nice but there are cheaper places around. Very clean rooms butt very small. We where on sixth floor so was well and truly nakard by the time was there with bags. Be very careful around the back streets here as my friends and I got pick pocketed.

I read some bad reviews about this hostel, but my stay was excellent. Small but comfortable room, very reliable and quick internet, and a friendly staff. It's right off Pham Ngu Lao, so it's in the heart of the backpacker district (like most other hostels). Good stay.

A great little hostel, nice rooms with plenty of space and good quality bunk beds. Cheap, free breakfast, free internet and tours and bus tickets also cheaper through them than on the street. Would definitely recommend.

The hostel is quite near to Saigon's tourist attractions. This is convenient for backpackers like me to walk to and from each tourist spot. No need to ride a taxi. There are lots of touring agencies near the hostel too which is easier for tourists to book even on the day itself.

The included breakfast and nice staff made it an excellent stay for me! Rooms were nice and tidy, big beds but generally small rooms. Value for money might not be great, but its a gooood place if you don't mind spending a bit over average on accommodation

The staff should improve their English, except the night shift guy. Great location and the lounge area in the 6th floor is unexploited, really cool. great facilities and decent breakfast.
