Sanlitun Youth Hostel (Wangfujing hostel) Reviews

One of the best hostels i've ever stayed at!

i felt very good at sanlitun. the bathrooms were fairly clean and the rooms were fine. the 8-bed dorms are muuuch bigger than the 6-bed dorms, so if you have the choice go with the 8-bed. the hostel is about 15 minutes away from the next subway that takes you to all the important places. furthermore, the water was always warm and the rooms had a cozy temperature. the food in the bar is a little overpriced, but it's still a good place to hang out. i'd definitely go to sanlitun again.

We really enjoyed this hostel. Beijing in winter is so extremely cold but the hostel was toasty warm all the time. The rooms were simple but clean and suited us fine. The staff were extremely friendly, and helped us with booking train tickets and other concerns about traveling in China (they put up with a lot of annoying questions from me). Also, the atmosphere in the hostel was really great and we found lots of cool people to talk to. We would definitely come back here, thanks for a great time!

Hostel is situated in the city center, but not so close to the subway station. The staff was very friendly and we were able to communicate in English. Internet was fast (compared to other hostels in China), although if you don't have your computer with you, you have to pay to use one in the hostel.

This hostel was great, it was very clean and had friendly and helpful staff and a great community feel.

Great hostel, superb service.

The staff was great and I loved the nightly specials. The atmosphere was fun and open and I had a great time. My one complaint would be the food, it tasted fine but took forever to get there. I waited on average about an hour for almost every meal.

I loved to stay here! One of the best hostel i have stayed in Beijing so far! I use the laundry service, i found that my clothes smelt bad when they came back, i think they had it dry in the kitchen or something, not great!recommend using the option of puting a paper at the door to say to come and clean the room... i had to ask someone to come clean the bathroom, i could see in the miror and the sink was really dirty. Great vibes - nicest hostel I have stayed at. The staff are awesome and very helpful! We got there and didn't have our time planned out. One of the staff spent nearly an hour with us, planning what to do and when to do it. She explained how to get there, prices and overall recommendations. They set up tours for you and are helpful in every way. Great bar and restaurant. Cozy place to hang out. Clean and nice rooms. I'd go again in a second!

Great hostel with amazing atmosphere. The hostel's restaurant is excellent, although it's a bit more expensive than the local restaurants. The only problem with the bar/restaurant was that the staff tried to remember people by face, when delivering orders, which didn't seem to work very well, when the restaurant was full. Also, sometimes we had to wait for food for a long time and usually people at the same table received their food separately, but this seems to be a problem all around China.

Great hostel, littlebit hidden but near the bars, clubs and shopping places in sanlitun. Great fakemarket nearby, heated rooms, cleaning all day several times and very friendly stuff. The drinks are kind of cheap at the bar but it definitly takes too long time if you order food. Once it took 90 minutes to get some french fries which seriously should take not more than 15 minutes. So dont eat there if you dont want to wait that long, also its much cheaper to eat in one of the nearby situated res.

I booked and payed for a twinroom with shared bathroom and when I arrived I got a twinroom with private bathroom due to low season. The staff was really nice :) I would definitely stay in this hostel again if I come back to Beijing.

Great location relatively close to a subway station and near tons of cool restaurants and bars, very nice and helpful staff when it comes to tours and helping with travel arrangements, fun party atmosphere. Only a few complaints: no common area that ISN'T the bar where you can bring outside food and drinks, really slow service at the restaurant and bar, showers on multiple floors were kind of broken and very hard to control the temperature of. But these are minor concerns. Still recommended.

The hostel had a very fun, international atmosphere. The only complaint was the loud music every night. If you like to go to bed before 1am, then this is not the hostel for you. Also, the hostel is a farther walk than their directions make you believe.

this hostel is very nice, rooms are small and there isn't a wardrobe, but for short term stay is perfect! it is close to subway station (10 minutes by walk), and there are a lot of good restaurants in that area. I really liked the hall and the restaurant, food is amazing with asian and international dishes. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This hostel was great. For me cleanliness is a must, and this hostel delivered. The bar downstairs was always quite lively with the highlights being: moderately priced Stella on tap, and a western breakfast in the morning. (for those of you like me who aren't used to a Chinese breakfast yet) The staff was great too. Easy to approach, fun to talk with, and very helpful. I recommend renting a bike one day for 30rmb.

Had the best time here, this hostel is fantastic!! If you're going to Beijing this is the hostel you want to book! Location is great, the staff is extremely helpful and nice and the atmosphere was just the best. And it was warm inside too, quite nice in the winter! :) Go here! It's great!
