Required 200CNY of deposit, though this is not written in Hostelworld.com... Search and ask: the introduction of the hostel is poor. We discovered after 4 days there is a micro-wave in... the bathroom. If you want your room to be cleaned, explicitly say you want the room and the shower room FLOORs to be SWEPT. Our "Standard Double Bed Private Ensuite" had an unreachable (so impossible to open) window looking at... a high wall.

Freezing cold. The staff keeps the heater controls down at the front desk and don't want to turn it on. Maids open the windows at any opportunity. Most of the guests at this hostel are entire Chinese families. This includes grandma and grandpa, babies and children, and even a dog. Yes, I saw someone smuggle a dog into here. It made for a very LOUD stay. There isn't much offered here aside from a bed and a shower, very bare bones compared to most hostels I've stayed in. Really average at best.

The hostel itself is fine, it's pretty typical. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was great. It's a 5 minute walk from the Bund with everything that has to offer and it's not far from Nanjing walking street. I would stay there again for sure.
