Thank you Dock Bund Hostel! I REALLY enjoyed staying there! Away from the crowd, but not too far from main places we wanted to go and only 6-10 min walk from the Metro Station. I LOVE the staffs. They were all very friendly, are hard workers, very patience and HELPFUL! They deserve some BONUS! I'm a person who LOVES to ask detailed questions to make sure I get things correctly, and the staffs answered all of my questions. Our room was CLEAN and NEAT! Facilities are GREAT! Will come back there!

Great location! Despite the other guests in my room not helping keep the room tidy the hostel was very clean. The only downside was that it wasn't very social. The only social spot was the computer room and other guests got very annoyed if groups talked above a whisper. The hostel really needs a bar/restaurant where guests can socialise with each other. However if you're only looking for a cheap and convenient and clean place to sleep then this hostel was great!

wifi was very poor, but staff gave me a cable for accessing internet. Safety locker room was nice, room was basic clean room you would expect. Not really much facilities (bar/terrace or anything where you'd meet fellow travellers) but location is great so I guess it doesn't matter.

I had a great stay at the hostel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and quickly came to aid me when I locked my key in my room (this happened more than once). A word of caution; the basic single room is basically a cupboard under a stairwell...it was much smaller than what I thought it would be, even for the price. That said the room contained a TV, air con and other hotel appropriate amenities. I also sneaked a peaked at the bigger rooms and they looked very nice.

Super clean and super cheap. Staff spoke English well and had no problems. Not the kind of Hostel to meet new people at but a great place if you are looking for a cheap place to crash with nice facilities. Rooms were clean and bathrooms looked brand new.

Positive: Location, New bathrooms, price Nevative: cold in the common areas, load personnel shouting around in the morning and waking me up, single room didnt have a window and was stinking cos somebody had smoked before. Somebody has smoked in the bathroom as well. Finally, do NOT even thing of washing ur clothes there. The washing mashine leaves the clothes soaking wet and the dryer is a complete joke. Had to take wet clothes back cos it was extremely cold outside....

The only thing this place really has going for it is it's excellent location close to the Bund. It has zero personality, no security beyond the room doors (anyone can walk off the street into the lift), my room had a window that looked out into a alcohol warehouse, so was dark all the time and had very inadequate lighting, and I had both no phone reception and no wifi signal in my room. Yes the room was clean, but that should be a minimum standard.

All in all I was very satisfied with this accomodation. It was really only a ten minutes walk to Nanjing Road. The only thing that really disturbed me was not being able to use the Wifi in our room. Plus our phones were without single. But since we were only there for sleeping it was more than enough.

Beautiful rooms, great price, fantastic location. Access to metro lines 10 or 2 within 15 minutes of walking, one block off the Bund!

It looks a terrible place when you first see it and get in, then rooms are nicer than expected.

it's more like a hotel with bunk beds, even they got a common area, which used to be a room, i thought, lack of communication with other backpackers, anyway location is great, pretty close to the bund
