Nice hotel but not really close from Shinjuku and all the bars and action. Cheap hotel so if you don't expect much for the money it's perfect. Nice staff

It's a hostel, so lower your expectations to that. The bathroom was clean and bigger than the hotel we stayed at the night before. And the rooms came with TV! A great place and in a great location!

Good hotel for travellers that don't expect much from their hotel. I stayed with a mate and all we used the rooms for is sleeping, so it served us well. Location is excellent being only a short walk from the shopping district in Shinjuku. It's just around the corner from a subway station also. We stayed in a serviced, twin 'authentic' room, with tettamie mats & private ensuite( small) WiFi is free but need to be in hallway to use it. Staff was 50/50. One lady was very helpful, other not at all.

The Hostel was well located, being 2min walking distance from Shinjuku - Gyonmae station. The staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and of reasonable size. Overall, this was good value for money accomodation.

This hotel was decent for the money. The lady at the desk wasn't the most helpful, but overall it's not a bad place to stay.

Great location close to subway line. Room was very clean, spacious, very modern, and the bathroom was excellent! Very clean and modern as well. Loved the centralized lighting and music control. The only thing is that the room is very dark and we even have to turn on the lights inside the room even if it's day time. We also can't see the sky outside as our window faces a wall so we can't tell the weather unless we go outside ourselves. The staff are helpful but could be friendlier.

Great for a last minute on the day reservation! After pulling out from a dingy hostel! The comparison was not comparable! We had a sweet ensuite and double bed to ourselves, the rooms were very chic and the passage way was nicely decorated with 24/7 jazz music! The rooms were cleaned everyday too! Walkable to Shinjuku, an excellent 3day stay :)

I had a terrific experience staying at this hotel. There is no curfew and there is staff at the front door 24hrs a day (they keep your key while you are out, which means you won't lose it while exploring). Great room (private Japanese style) for the price, and very clean as well.

The best thing about the hotel is its place. It is almost at the centre of Shinjuku. Also the price is good for the location. It is very clean and the staff is very helpfull although they have very little English. I can surely advise this pretty hotel.

The location of this hotel was good. The decor of the room was a little unusual with half e walls exposed concrete. I did like the traditional tami mats, which were dry comfortable. The wifi connection was useless and I was unable to send relieve data.

I stayed at this hotel in early January, so the price was quite steep. Great location to Shinjuku shopping, and really close to the subway line. Was placed in a room on the 7th floor, so I had the share computers right outside my room. This meant I was woken up quite a few times during the night. My advice, ask for a room that isn't on level 5 or 7, as that is where the share computers are located. Other than that, there was no heating in the bathroom and it was very cold.

Most of the folks were pleasant enough, however, one staff member in particular (Sumanaga) was excellent, courteous and most helpful with all our questions and directional requirements.

If you need to spend a night - why not. It is a lower end hotel with no breakfast. Our room that we booked as a 3 bed for 3 males was a double-bed (think queen size) and a spare bed. So not really what we expected. The bathroom was nice with bathtub, shower, a lot of things like deodorant, ... Free drinks in the lobby. Very "plain" atmosphere. But still OK, depends on your expectations, as always.

My boyfriend and I were having a lot of difficulties getting transportation to the airport because it was New Years Eve, but the staff went above and beyond to help us. One woman in particular made calls and gave us directions. She was really incredible! We made it to the airport early in the morning for our flight, thanks to her!

I have stayed at Shinjuku Hotel Nuts three times, each on a separate trip to Tokyo. I would recommend it primarily as it has a good location. The old rooms are quite small if you are staying with more than two people, and there is minimal space for luggage. I have stayed in the new 'upsetters' tatami rooms on the sixth floor and enjoyed these more as they have more space (the bathrooms are smaller however). NUTS is a reasonably priced hotel considering its location and facilities.
