A bit difficult to find, but the directions they give are good - it is a 15 min walk to the nearest metro, but there are buses nearby which the staff directs you too which are easy to take. The dorm room was comfortable enough, but reeked of the toilet! There needs to be lids on the trash bins in the bathroom (since you have to throw toilet paper in there) and it needs to be cleaned out more regularly!

Really great hostel. Excellent location. A bit tough to find but they'll give you a little map if you ask before your trip. Great atmosphere, really helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable beds. It was a nice quiet place to stay and plenty of interesting people staying there to meet. Really helpful with helping you find what you want in Beijing. Good Great Wall tour options. Free tourist map too, and they will highlight everything on it that you might want to do. Highly recommended.

Cons: The bathroom for the dorm style room isn't the greatest in the world. I couldn't figure out how to get the hot water to work, but that could just be me. The place is not very easy to find. Pros: The staff is very helpful and friendly. They really help you get settled into Beijing and make you feel welcomed. The dorm rooms were clean and looked nice. Everyone is given a locker with a key. So you don't need to worry about you values being stolen. Free internet and no password wi-fi!

We liked the place, staff friendly ad helpful the problem was the location of our room. It was too close to the reception which the noise at 6:30 every morning is not enjoyable.

Nice and quiet, can be very hard to find. The area is really safe though, so no problems wandering around to find it (the signs are difficult to see)

Really good hostel. Nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and helps finding your way around and organizing things. They booked a train ticket for me. Had it in my hands just a couple of hours later. Prices for rooms, food and drinks are good. The place is very nicely located in a small hutong neighbourhood north of Jingshan park . Restaurants and shops are nearby. 10-15 mins to subway station. Only downside is that there is no real outside area. Highly recommended though.

The boss is really friendly and helpful. The hostel is really cute and the location is perfect, but I felt we were paying a lot for the location. The bathroom and the room were not so clean.

This was the first hostel we stayed at in China. The staff were exceptionally helpful with travel advice. Our room was very comfortable and the food and drink at the hostel was very good. The location of Sitting on the Walls is fantastic. It is within walking distance of the major parks, fine restaurants (very reasonably priced) and the bus and metro links are very accessible.

This is more of a guesthouse than hostel in a fantastic location with helpful staff and real atmosphere. It was comfortable and clean. I have already recommended it to friends/family planning on coming to Beijing. (One very small thing: the lack of kettle/kitchen facilities meant I spent a little more on coffee/breakfast than I had budgeted and this might be important to know for some hostel-goers.)

Sitting on the City Walls Courtyard Hostel was a delightful place to stay whilst in Beijing. Tucked away in a traditional Chinese Hutong, this Courtyard hostel is full of character. It was very warm and cosy inside the hostel despite the freezing cold outside, a huge plus! The Courtyard is beautifully decorated and has a homely feel. Great if you're taking family like I did as it wasn't too much of a "backpackers" place which is exactly what I wanted. Try their Ginger Tea in the winter! :)

Had a great stay. Just one night but it was very relaxing. Everyone in the hostel is clean even if outside the street isn't but then no street in china is clean. Would def recommend
