Great location, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. A minor problem was a lack of storage in our room.

Just Perfect. Situated in an authentic Beijing hutong. Friendly staff with individual approach. Main sights walking distance away. Highly recommended!!

its a decent hostel, although becoming a bit pricy . The staff is very friendly and helpfull and speak good english. Breakfast is not included (that seems normal in China). But in comparison to hostels in the countryside it is very expensive en the rooms are okay. But the friendliness en the location makes it a very recommended hostel!

Dear Sir: Thank you so much for being with us twice in two weeks. For the price, please compare other hostels in Beijing, not in the countryside. It should be same feeling when you compare the price in London,Paris,NewYork, to the countryside one too. Have a nice trip. City Walls

Exceptionally knowledgeable staff, very friendly and very helpful. Will help you book train tickets without leaving the hostel. Hostel not too well sign posted from the street, can be difficult for taxi drivers to find the place. Good location to the main city centre sights.

Great hostel to stay, near to forbidden city and to other famous places. Staff was very helpful. They gave free map and list what to do, and what not to do in Beijing. At the hostels lobby beer costs only 3rmb for 600ml. And it was a good beer.

This is a great hostel, the best we have stayed in. Our room was large, bright and clean as was our ensuite. The hostel is in a good location within easy 30 min walk to the Forbidden City. It's quiet as it's away from the main road. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful.

Excellent Hostel with friendly staff in a neat Hutong setting. My only complaint is while it is close to the Forbidden City, it is just a bit too far from the closest subway station ~20 min walk. If you are staying in Beijing a long time I would recommend something closer to the subway.

Despite the instructions provided the location was a little hard to find, but the staff were wonderful when I called them lost and they came to find me. They were extremely helpful in many ways. Being in the Hutong was great & close to the Forbidden City and lots of public transport options around. I enjoyed a bowl of dumplings there which were absolutely fantastic and at a very good price. The other meals looked good too. All the guests seemed pretty comfortable and happy. I know I was. Thanks

Gorgeous little place; pretty, peaceful and relaxing with everything you could need readily and cheaply available. Was provided with extremely useful map and fact sheet which was invaluable and staff were very helpful. The perfect place if you want to get on and do your own thing in Beijing and have a peaceful base to come back to. Really lovely.

This hostel is right amongst the Beijing hutong, so if you did a quick 2 day trip from somewhere else in China like I did, you can check that off your list! It's got a great atmosphere and a lot of character, although there is only one front desk staff so she seemed a bit sleep-deprived and cranky at times. I was a solo single traveler so wasn't very impressed with being put in a shared room with 3 other guys, but I guess I did book late. Overall I would recommend it.

The best hostel in the world! OK, I haven't been to all the hostels in the world, so I can't make that statement definitively. However, amazing ambience and layout, cheap beer (3 Yuan for a 568ml bottle) and your buddy Rick who will help you with anything from adventure gear to visas. You know they genuinely want to help you and ended up staying for 9 days!

The staff at the City Walls hostel were fantastic and sorted out all our ongoing train tickets for us. They gave us a map and marked on everything we might want to see during our stay. We planned our days around the useful guide that they gave us with the map and the trip to the Great Wall we did through the hostel was good value with no unexpected 'shopping' stops. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm that was comfortable with constant hot water. Thanks to them we had a great stay in Beijing!

Rick and staff run a great hostel. First time in Beijing and they made it easy for me to see the Opera, acrobats, the great wall, the late Chairman Mao and helped me get train tickets to Xi'an. Going back in a few weeks.
