2 words......BED BUGS!!!! bed bugs, bed bugs, bed bugs! DO NOT STAY HERE. we checked into a room that had just been fumigated for bed bugs but clearly they didnt do a good enough job because as soon as i hopped into bed i got bitten. i was given another bed by the guy on night duty, but when i went down in the morning to complain about it and ask for a refund the staff couldnt seem to care less. i asked to see the manager but he was extremely arrogant and rude and not willing to give me a refund

Messiness in the room is the fault of the guests, the fact that the bathroom had urine on the floor & stank most definitely is. These things come with the territory of a party hostel. We were treated very badly when we asked to move and were told the smell "is not that bad". Why should it be bad at all? The manager was then very rude until she realised she would have to apologise then she was all smiles. Got a full refund but should not have to put up with such treatment. Ruined our afternoon

The rooms were good just very noisy fri/sat//sun nights. The wifi connection wasn't great but it was ok. All the staff were pleasant and helpful except one girl on the bar who when I asked if there was anyone on reception to sell me wifi she looked really put out and rolled her eyes at me. Apart from that everything was good!

A good hostel if you're after a party - what with the nightclub above and the bar below. Unfortunately that's not what I was after but my own fault for not realising! The staff were friendly (despite the roomates being rather rude). A pretty good hostel though

Nice rooms. Next to the Beach and Shopping. Common area missing. Alkohol not allowed. Can recommend for workers.

great location really close to the beach and cafes/restaurants. the rooms were clean and comfortable. The only downsides were the lack of common areas to meet people and be aware that this is a working hostel, so no parties or alcohol in rooms, which is not so bad with a bar in the basement with great happy hour specials. A great place to stay if you need a good night's sleep!

The bedding was stained, the mattresses were leather which was uncomfortable and made a noise every time you moved. The en-suite bathroom thing doesn't work as you have to get out every 5 mins for someone in your room who needs the toilet. The receptionist explained things poorly. You cant go out on the balcony like it says online. you need your own padlock for the lockers so nowhere to keep my stuff. I had to walk through the public bar to use a communal toilet. awful

Thank you for your comments. My apologies that your bedding was stained. We wash all the sheets inhouse and always throw away old or stained bedding - this must have slipped through the net. The mattresses are made out of a special material as a bed bug deterrent. All of our rooms are ensuite and i understand that sometimes this is difficult. We do not have communal bathrooms in the hostel. Padlocks can be bought at the local supermarket.

Good hostel close to St Kilda Beach. The bar in the house is really nice with funny drinking games. Some staff can be considered unfriendly though. Room cards did not work properly! All in all a decent hostel with a very good location in St Kilda!

Thank you for your review and comments. Good to hear that you enjoyed our hostel. The keys can be slightly temperamental along with all over magnetic keys. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels.

Great location but although I understand supply and demand, the price is over the top. Book in advance if you want somewhere that's actually affordable!
