Ivan was a legend - incredibly helpful and welcoming. The hostel itself had a great relaxed vibe, where you could do your own thing or hang out with everyone outside. The showers had great pressure too, and the location was walking distance to many places and the subway. Great place, will be back again!

A fantastic place, in a really nice neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and clubs around, yet it's calm and quiet. They have a pool in the garden! The only complaint is that most of the guests spoke spanish only, but hey, it happens. I really recommend this hostel, it's awesome!

Great place to stay in Santiago

This hostel grows on you. At first, we didn't realize how confortable and welcoming the place is. It feels like you're in someone's else house and not in a company - still, you have to pay (; Sári and Ivan, lovely persons, were always there to help. They have a nice pool and a nearside breakfast table, big enough for the guests sit together and spend hours talking, eating etc. The hostel is also very well located, close to the subway, in a very charming and peaceful neighborhood.

Has a "small hostel" feel, almost feels like a staying in someone's home. The owner is great, makes everyone feel very welcome and takes in interest in everyone's experience. They strive to have a close knit feel here, people all hang out together in the backyard where there is a nice patio and small pool. Beds are comfy, facilities are clean, price is fair.

This is a very nice hostel in Santiago. It has all the basic stuff you need and it is very clean in the common rooms. The atmoshere is great. I think it is the ideal place to start and end a trip to Chile. We also came back there on our way back to Germany.

Very clean and comfortable hostel in a great area. Breakfast is great and served at any time. Great atmosphere day and night - not a party hostel at night, more like an after party relaxed social scene. The owner, Ivan is the most helpful person we have met in over two months. Best hostel so far in South America. Rob and Sophie (UK)

Good hostel in a safe neighborhood. The beds are excellent with real mattresses and duvets. The hostel is overall clean with a well equipped kitchen, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful and offers muesli, salami, and cheese! The wi-fi works well.

We loved our stay at the Hostel! The staff, especially Ivan who runs the hostel, is extremely helpful with right about everything. We got tips on what to do, how to get there and back, where to go or invitations to just hang around the hostel. This is all you can ask for in a hostel, and widely underpriced, so it's a catch!!!

Friendly and helpful staff and good vibes. Seems like they always have a mix of travelers staying for several weeks and some only for a few days. Very much enjoyed my stay and hope to return!

Ivan is a super host! This dude knows the city very well and always tries to help you with advices of where to go and what to do (not only in Santiago but in the whole country). I had a blast! Had some awesome bbq and met lots of new people! I totally recommend this place to laid back people who don't mind a little bit of chaos and party

Enjoyed my stay, would recommend it to others. Good value for Santiago. I stayed in the private bungalow but thought there was a very nice social atmosphere. Though located away from downtown, it is conveniently close to a metro station and the neighborhood is nice with plenty of good, local restaurants that are cheaper than the tourist areas. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The other guests were social but not crazy partiers. Wifi was good, not sure if the public computer was in use.

Ventana sur hostel is located at a safe neighbourhood Santa Isabel . The rooms are clean , fitted with cable tv, wifi . On our first night the shower heater was broken and we didn't manage to bath but the house owner promptly fixed that on day 2. The staff were great , helpful, and warm. we accidentally melted a hanger and made some burn marks to a furniture due to misplacement of the heater but he kindly did not charge us for them and even told us to be more careful for our safety.
