Yan hostel was great. I came and stayed for the full moon party. Yan does your laundry for free and makes you free breakfast every morning. He also provides fresh fruit and other snacks throughout the day...again, for free. However, the dorms were super tight and the facilities were very basic. The people in my hostel were also very nice and fun. You go to Yan Hostel for a good atmosphere...not if you want a comfortable, spacious place to stay.

Upon arrival we were asked to pay more than double what we booked the room for! To make matters worse, the room was dirty, windowless, without a working a/c and so small that we couldn't fit in a bag each and had to stamp on each other’s 'beds'. Even worse, it stank terribly, so much so that on the second night we decided to sleep on the beach instead. Although it is conveniently located close to the partying area during the full moon party, we wouldn't stay there for free.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else on koh phangan. Yan is incredible, one of the nicest Thai men you will ever meet. He always cooks up breakfast and evening meal and encourages everyone to eat together, is constantly singing and even took some of us out to see a meditation retreat. So so easy to meet people here as a single traveller we all went out together all week you will not feel alone for one minute. Excellent location between the beaches just a straight walk to the full moon beach, I'll be back

Yans hostel is not a hostel but a home! Yan is the freaking man for real! It meets all the standards and them some! It's a very comfortable place with great people! VERY close to full moon beach! Free breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Plus free laundry everything FREE not a scam! The rooms are dorm style great way to meet people! Yan also has no problem showing you around of a off day! He's a generally great guy who will be blessed right back for his right doing. Love you Yan

Yan is an awsome guy, also the girls are all very frindly and fun. They cook for guests and wash the clouths, which is a nice extra. Wifi has a good speed. Is very close to the Fullmoon-Beach. Only poor thing about the place is that it's not clean. If they would improve the cleanliness this backpacker would be one of the best places I've stayed so far (arround the world). But it didnt really matter because I've seen also worse in India an other places. Go to the Treehouse or Eden by taxiboot.

We stayed here for the Full Moon party, from the other reviews we expected the place to be much much better. The place is very small and VERY dirty, we refused to use the toilets or showers there. I've been travelling around Asia for the past few months and this was by far the worst place I have stayed. Yan is VERY loud and has completely lost his marbles. The only good thing I have to say about the place is that it's in a convenient location and there's a washing machine there.

If you're in Ko Phangan for the Full Moon Party, then stay at Yan's. Atmosphere is great, you will make friends as soon as you walk in the door.

Yan is quite possibly the friendliest person you will ever meet. as soon as i walked in to the hostel, before i had checked in he had put a bowl of food and a cup of coffee in my hands and told me to sit down. He is always making food for everyone. he is an excellent massage therapist, giving out free massages regularly. Be warned! he is crazy, but in the best way possible, his laugh is infectious. In my year and a half travelling and staying in hostels this was best hostel. stay here!!
