Welcome to Banana Bungalow Maui, Hawaii’s longest-running, most social and adventurous hostel! Our weekly tours and events include:
Sunday: Makena Beach & Drum Circle
Monday: ʻIao Valley Hike + Jungle Juice party in the evening
Tuesday: Road to Hana
Wednesday: Waiheʻe Ridge Trail + Trivia Night in the evening
Thursday: Snorkeling with Turtles
Friday: West Side or Paia Town + Keg Night in the evening
Saturday: Haleakalā National Park — a 12-mile / 19-km hike through the incredible volcanic crater

Need a place to work remotely or relax between adventures? Our large tropical outdoor common areas are perfect for hanging out, meeting people, or getting some work done. Our big communal kitchen has two gas stoves, three refrigerators, and plenty of cookware, so you can easily make your own meals and save some money for more Maui adventures.

POLICIES:
Travelers Only
We are a travelers-only hostel. All guests must show either a foreign passport or confirmation of a flight leaving Maui in order to check in. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
We reserve the right to refuse service or remove guests who are disruptive or create a nuisance for other travelers.

🕐 Reception & Quiet Hours

Reception is open 8 AM–11 PM. Arriving after 11 PM? No problem — we’ll leave your key for you at the front desk. Kitchen hours are 7:30 AM–10 PM. Quiet hours are 10 PM–8 AM.

👥 Age Requirements
Guests must be 18+ to stay in dorm rooms. Children 13 and older may stay in a private room with a parent or guardian. We do not accommodate children under 13.

🥾 FREE TOUR INFORMATION
Our free daily tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis.Sign-ups open the day before each tour, after that day’s tour has departed. You must be staying at the hostel and physically present to sign up — we do not accept advance tour reservations.Every tour participant must sign a liability waiver before participating. And please remember to tip your tour guides! They’re sharing their time and helping make your Maui adventure special. 🌺

🔑 Lockers
We have lockers available, and locks can be rented for $2 cash.

❌ Cancellation Policy
Cancellation requests must be received at least 48 hours before your check-in time (2 PM HST) in order for your deposit to be refunded. If you are marked as a no-show, you will be charged for the first night of your stay. We do not offer refunds after check-in, so please make sure your travel plans are confirmed before arriving.
