Hive Hostel Ella is a social backpackers hostel made for people who love connecting with open-minded travellers from around the world. We are surrounded by nature and close to hikes, waterfalls, cafés and Ella town — perfect for adventures by day and social vibes by night!

OUR VIBE✨
Hive Hostel is all about connection, openness and community. Whether you’re a solo backpacker or coming with a small group, you’re welcome here — just come ready to join activities, talk to new people and avoid closed-off group behaviour. If you prefer to keep to yourself, work all day or avoid socializing — that’s totally fine, but we’re not the ideal match. If you enjoy sharing travel stories, hanging out and making new friends, you’ll love it here!

Hive is not a party hostel — but we’re definitely social.
We have two friendly house dogs and a cat, if you are lucky you will see the occasional monkeys passing through our garden.

COMFORT
Each bed is dressed with high quality, super comfortable bedding and provided with a safety locker, power socket (included adapters if needed) and reading lights. All rooms have fans and the bathrooms come with cold and hot water.

LOCATION
Reach to Our hostel has stairs instead of a lift ;) — consider it the hostel’s version of a mini adventure before you reach your bed.

SERVICE
Towels are included. There is tea, coffee and filtered water available for free throughout the day and in the morning we serve one of the best complimentary Sri Lankan breakfasts in Ella. We offer free luggage storage. For some extra charge we offer Fast Laundry Service, too.

• Waterfall trips, Monestary visits, Tea plantations

• Social dinners

• In-house cooking classes
