This new HI hostel is situated east of the centre in a typical Amsterdam neighbourhood. The city's must-see attractions are but a fifteen-minute cycle or tram trip away. The tram stops only 200m from here, putting us just 10 minutes from Rembrandt Square.

You can take a tour of the canals by boat, visit world-famous museums or head off shopping along the colourful Kalverstraat - and there's always plenty to do at the hostel in the evening!

We?re housed in an amazing building, a former school dating from around 1900. This enables visitors to enjoy the ultra-modern facilities in classical settings.

Our hostel is ideally suited to accommodate (large) groups, providing access to various multifunctional areas within the building.

The bedrooms are all spacious and feature private sanitary facilities. All rooms are designed by the famous Dutch designer Edward van Vliet.

Our hostel also has its own cafe/restaurant and will be sharing the building with a cinema and theatre - a truly fantastic entertainment combination!

You can rent a bicycle right our reception desk.

Stayokay is part of the Hostelling International organization. Hostelling International members receive a discount of ?2.50 per night. All Stayokay hostels have the European Eco-label.

City tax is not included, please pay upon arrival (6% per night).

My room was super messy and dirty!! My bed wasn't one of the bunk beds, it was a separate bed and didn't have any privacy cover nor lamp which other beds had and I also didn't have a locker. Windows couldn't be fully opened so the air was heavy. The location is not very convenient. Expensive, definetly not worth the price. I have been several times to Stayokay Stadsdoelen which is great and closer to the center and cheaper so this was dissapointing. The receptionist was nice though.

Overall a great experience. Staff was kind. The hostel is located in a very quiet neighbourhood that is a little far from the city centre.

Suuri hostelli jossa baari alakerrassa. Pyykinpesumahdollisuudesta plussaa. Huoneessamme oli jaettu vessa ja suihku, joka laski mielestäni viihtyvyyttä. Varmasti erinomainen ratkaisu, jos majoittuva porukka tuntee toisensa hyvin.

Hostelworld sanoo

Hostelworldin vieraat vertaavat usein Stayokay Amsterdam Oostia (Zeeburg) hotelliin sanoen, että se on tilava ja puhdas ja tarjoaa erittäin kiitetyn aamiaisen, joka sisältää "munia, juustoa, kinkkua, vastapuristettua appelsiinimehua/omenamehua" ja paljon muuta. Vierailijat kertovat meille, että hostellista "on erinomaiset raitiovaunu- ja bussiyhteydet ja kaikki tärkeimmät nähtävyydet ovat samalla raitiovaunulinjalla", joten se on noin 10 minuutin raitiovaunumatkan päässä aivan Amsterdamin keskustasta. Pidämme siitä, että jokaisessa asuntolan sängyssä on lukuvalo ja pistorasia, jonka sisustus on kuvattu "kauniiksi ja moderniksi ja...hyvin hoidetuksi".
