The Nolita Express is a historic social hostel designed and inspired by the roaring 20's and the surrounding neighborhood of Nolita. Built in 1927, and preserved since the 1940s when the building served as a home for soldiers returning home from World War II, today our hostel offers guests from all over the world a social experience of traveling back in time in one of the most vibrant locations in Soho/ Nolita New York City. The Nolita Express offers WiFi, luggage storage, shared bathrooms, shared lounge, shared kitchenette, shared rooftop and complimentary water, coffee, and tea. Conveniently located in the heart of Soho/Nolita. Valid passport and credit card required for check in. - A $50 USD credit card damage deposit hold is required at check in. - All Cabins are for SINGLE OCCUPANCY ONLY. - We do not accept NY and NJ residents. - The maximum length of stay for any guest is 14 days. - Must be 18 years or older. - Taxes are not included - City, State and Occupancy taxes total 14.75% + $3.50/night

Great location and prise actually fair (for New York). Location probably its best sell. And the people working there great and friendly. Only dis is the room. Room very small and if you’re over 5 foot 10 inches you’re gonna find the single bed tight/annoying. Also the noise of everyone with the rooms/pods next to each other unavoidable. Also the electric key system you forever hear too. Would still stay here again so it’s not a killer review

This place is fine if you need a cheap bed for a night or two. The bed is pretty clean but is very short, I’m 5’6 and my feet were hanging off the end. The rooms are private but the ceiling of the room is open so you can hear everyone around you breathe and move, but they do provide earplugs. The room was also very cold, but they give good blankets. There’s also a lot of stairs and no elevator. There’s also no showers or women’s toilets on the mixed floor, apart from one private stall.

This is advertised as a private room. I think private stall would be a better description as there is not ceiling and the walls are paper. You can hear every single noise: breathing, adjusting, phone usage. Please also keep in mind there is a females floor and a mixed floor. I missed this information while I was booking. While I was there, I did not feel safe on the mixed floor as I don’t think there was another female on the floor and many of the men were older and of questionable character.
