Another well designed modern hostel. Built-in pod style beds, well designed bathrooms, security with electronic rubber wrist band that opens your room and your locker. Directions to get there say turn right at the grey gate, but it's brown now, and it's behind you as you walk by .

We loved our stay at a room in the city! The 6 person door was open and clean. Everyone including guests were lovely. They ran heaps of activities which were good to meet people. The hostel was quiet, beds comfy and rooms clean. Only down side was our door wouldn’t close automatically. Would recommend!

Great place with friendly staff, very comfy and private beds (love the curtains shielding the bunks), lots of washroom facilities, and very secure and generous storage space. Only complaint is 3 euro for a towel rental seems excessive.

Lovely place. Comfortable and private bunks, nice communal places to relax. Close to the beach, a bit further from the old town.

I really liked my stay in A room in the City Hostel and the rooms there (at least the female dorm I stayed in) are definitely among the best I've been to so far! The beds are very comfortable and solid (no shaking when someone climbs on the top bunk...), they allow for privacy because they have a curtain one can close, and the rooms are spacious, clean and nicely furnished. The security system with a wristband for doors and drawers is great! The only thing missing are night lights at the beds :-)

I enjoyed my 3-day stay at this hostel. I did find it a bit expensive for the time of year I was staying here, but I was willing to pay it because of its location. It's so close to everything - bus station, old town for the pintxo bars, grocery stores, beach, etc. I stayed in a mixed 8-bed dorm and it was quite comfy, clean, and the bed was very comfy. But definitely make sure to bring ear plugs cuz of people snoring and the loud music you will hear on Fri and Sat. Not a social vibe though

Gorgeous facilities designed with care, but basically no social atmosphere -- it's too big! The lovely patio bar is only open on weekends. Also, the RFID key constantly stopped working, I had to have my reset five times and was nervous about getting locked out at night because of it. But it's a great building and really thoughtful comfortable dorms.

Great hostel right in the center of San Sebastian. 5 min walk to the old town and to the main shopping area. I loved the rooms and beds with curtains made it super dark! Cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at and really lovely, helpful staff. The only thing I would say is that there isn't really much social atmosphere. Not great for solo travel if you want to meet people but if you are chill to explore solo it is a great place to stay!

Lovely hostel!! They have thought of everything at A Room in the City! Honestly exceeded our expectations in so many ways! We all loved the curtained bunks and slept great (def would recommend bringing earplugs & eye mask but that’s a general suggestion for any hostel). Clean BRs, great location & loved convenience of on-site bar. Granted the price point is a bit high (we think ~€25/night would be more fair) but then again this was hands down the best hostel experience we’ve had to date.
