Or if you're the arty type try your hand at a calligraphy workshop! Afterwards grab a snack from our café – we're proud of our delicious speciality coffee.

Location

Our hostel is in Nishiarai neighbourhood in north-east Tokyo, so we're surrounded by buzz and bustle. To find us from the airport, hop on a shuttle bus at Tokyo City Air Terminal, then it's a subway ride from Suitengumae station on the Hanzomon line. Coming from the train station? You'll be here in about 40 minutes on the subway. Stroll around to discover cosy ramen joints as well as fast food faves like McDonalds. Want to discover the districts of Asakusa or Ueno? We're a minute away from the Nishiarai Station east exit on the Tobu Skytree Line.

Rooms and Dorms

All our mixed and female-only dorms have Pod beds – draw the curtains to create your own little sanctuary. The pods have plug and USB outlets to make sure your phone's fully charged. No worries if you want a night off with your book: there's a reading light for each bed. We also have private doubles – ideal if you're travelling with a partner – and family rooms that are perfect for small groups.

Emblem was such a great location to stay at. The staff was extremely friendly and often made great conversation, which was nice to be interacted with. The rooms were very comfortable and sufficient. They seemed to have several activities throughout the week, which I think is awesome of a hostel. We participated in a meet-up that included some locals and it was so cool to get to speak with them. Also very convenient that you are right next to the train station and grocery store. Would stay again!

Amazingly lovely staff, Mark was super lovely and helpful! My best friend & cousins really enjoyed our stay there but it’s very central and close to the train station.

Right around the corner from train station, lovelt staff, spacious beds, sparkling clean bathrooms and showers, and an amazing atmosphere! There were meet ups at the bar nightly and we met some great people 😁 We did not want to leave, highly recommend!

Although it's not in the busiest, most touristic area of Tokyo, its excellent staff, facilities, cleanliness, cost and nearness to the Nishiarai station all make it a worthwhile stay. The free tour to Daishi temple was interesting and the nearby supermarket offers 50% sushi & bento boxes after 9 p.m. And if you extend your stay, you can choose from free breakfasts, bicycle rental or gym access. I even had a room to myself, due to coronavirus' impact on travel. Highly recommend!

Pretty good amenities, quiet place and engaging community. Location is good as it's very close to the station, but city-wise, it's 30-45 minutes by train to the main city center.

Besides the fact that Japan has very high standards for hostels, Emblem Nishiarai stands out. Super friendly and always helpful staff, clean and suffficient facilities and a great common area which creates atmosphere are only some of the numerous good features. You'll have to travel in order to reach city center but that's Tokyo and the hostel is well connected to public transport. We would certainly come back and can recommend everyone to enjoy their stay there! Thanks again Emblem team!

Stellar place to be, the staff is above and beyond friendly. Good atmosphere for making friends if you want to, big lockers, space for luggage, etc. I cannot fault this hostel for anything but its location. It's far from the major Tokyo attractions so it will take a lot of travel time if you're going sightseeing.

It’s not much vibe as it’s more as a hotel then hostel. The staff was very helpful, specially Saki. If you want breakfast that’s 300 yen, gym is 500 yen per day and I lost my key card on the tour and I had to pay 1000 yen for that which was really expensive... it’s clean and there is a small kitchen you can use if you want.
