If you're looking for a place in Kyoto, stop looking, this is it. You can't find better place to stay and meet people. This is the most kind and welcoming hostel I've ever been and they really make you feel like home - plus, they have the best breakfast I've ever had in a hostel! Just please note they have a dog inside - Jiro is adorable, but pay attention to that if you happen to be allergic! A special thank you to Miwa, who was so very patient with me trying to learn some japanese! :) Mata ne!

Absolutely fantastic. Great breakfast. Had dinner one day and it was like eating with a Japanese family. Host took us to his public bath with sauna and hot tub for free. Male dorm poorly sound isolated (only thing keeping from a perfect 10 score) because of sliding Japanese walls. Reasonable bike rental. Host and at least one staff speaks decent English. Looks like a home, feels like a home.

A bit far away from the trains but a good hostel in a nice area. Close to many temples but nothing really going on for nightlife. The trip to the Sento was so lovely, would highly recommend. Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had (and free!)

Such a cute guesthouse. Lots of traditional elements (like lots of different kinds of slippers) make this place a very unique experience. Small so easy to meet other travellers and having some food provided is always great.
