Wonderful guest house with a wonderful group running it. Anytime I'm in Kyoto I'll be staying here. It feels more like a home and being part of the family than being in a hotel. I one hundred percent recommend this place to anyone going to Kyoto.

This hostel was such a great experience on our trip. The hosts were super warm and welcoming and happily answered our barrage of questions. An incredibly clean, traditional Japanease guesthouse, it feels as if you are accepted as one of their own. The bedrooms were comfy and quiet. The breakfast... WOW. You could easily pay 1500yen up the road for something similar, it was incredible. The host also owns a public bath up the road and let's you in free of charge. Would definitely stay again!!

Had great time there! The hostel feels less like a hostel and more like a home, the breakfast is amazing! Compared to the price the meal was way more then what I tought and very tasty! The hostel is smaller then other hostels I've been to but they have everything any other hostel would have. Have to mention that the owner and the staff was so nice, always recommending good places and when I had a problem they helped me so much that I feel very grateful. Really recommend the place!

No doubt I would stay here again if I returned to Kyoto. Great staff, warm environment and awesome breakfast (the best I had at a hostel/homestay).

This was the best place that my friends and I could have chosen to stay at during our time in Kyoto. It was so close to many different temples, we met so many kind people and like everyone else has said, the breakfast is amazing!! They also have the cutest dog ever. We loved staying here, especially because we had the chance to experience a traditional Japanese onsen, or public bath. It was so cool and definitely not something that every hostel offers ;) Thanks for everything!! 10/10 💕

Breakfast is amazing! It can easily be your only meal for the whole day! Free coffee and tea all day is a nice plus, too. Ambiance is relaxed and cozy. Only down side is a far distance from any JR connections. Very close to bus and subway if you don't mind taking those. Overall this place gets a high recommendation!

The staff were very kind! We rented bikes too. The only thing is that the hostel is a bit far from the main area.

I personally don’t understand the high rating or price. The kitchen is extremely dirty and unorganized. The laundry machine are not usable. Do not think you can use them, they looked horrifying. The two showers smelled really bad. The windows/patio doors in the bedroom would rock very loudly at night. The lockers are small. The food sometimes has dog hair in it. Pros: there were a lot of toilets. The sink was clean. There was breakfast with fruit. It’s close to a subway, and Lawson.
