Property Description

Free all-you-can-eat breakfast! Bagels and cream cheese, cereals, muffins, scones, toast, fruit, juice, milk, tea and coffee, served every day from 8 - 10am. It's at least a $5 value, and we know you've got better places to spend that money - like on beer!

Free Wireless throughout the hostel!

Private bathrooms! Every bathroom in our hostel is a private bathroom.

** Please note, taxes not included.

Smack dab in the middle of Granville Street's pub and club district, we're one of the newest Vancouver hostels -- and if you're angling for access to all the partying and good times you could want, without compromising on security, comfort, and cleanliness, then we're where you want to be!

Our in-the-thick-of-it location makes for the perfect home base while you explore Vancouver. Our hostel has awesome daily tours that'll have you hanging out with travellers from all over the world while you teeter across the Capilano Suspension Bridge or sip a pint on one of our pub crawls.

If you're looking for the fun of a hostel, but still want privacy, you'll love our ensuite private rooms and our two-bed dorms. These are our most popular room types, so make sure to book in advance!

A quick word about our kitchen -- our previous guests have asked (and we listened!) that we mention ahead that our cooking facilities include only microwaves, toasters and kettles. If you're looking to cook up a feast, we've got two other hostels in Vancouver (Downtown and Jericho Beach) with really impressive kitchens.

We know you care about security, too, and that's why you'll find your own backpack-sized locker in your dorm. When you don't have to worry about your stuff, you can really start enjoying yourself.

So that's our story: fun, secure, comfortable, clean, and can we just put in one more plug for the Granville Street nightlife?

We can't wait to meet you!

One of the city's newest hostels, HI Vancouver Central's a great place to crash after hitting the Granville Street clubs. We're at the centre of the thriving bar scene and we make the most of it with pub crawls that show you how to party West Coast-style. If you're looking for entertainment during the day, we organise tours and activities that let you hang out with other travellers; be warned, it might involve teetering across the wobbly Capilano Suspension Bridge! But before any of that, every day here starts with our free all-you-can-eat breakfast.

Granville Street is Vancouver's entertainment hub. As well as bars and clubs, there's great shopping and loads of restaurants just a few steps from the hostel. If gourmet food and mega farmer's markets are your thing, we're only a 17-minute walk from the ferry for the famous Granville Island Public Market. The SkyTrain's the city's main artery and a quick way to get around. Our closest station is Granville Street, two stops from Pacific Central Station and a short ride from Vancouver International Airport.

Rooms and Dorms

Our hostel is super sociable but if you like a little me-space, our popular private rooms are a great choice. If you opt for one of our mixed or female-only dorms you'll have an en-suite bathroom and backsack-sized locker. We know travelling light can be a priority, so we'll have free towels and linen ready for you when you get to your squeaky-clean room.

Extras and activities

You're probably not here to spend all evening cooking, so the communal kitchen is stocked with equipment for quick dinners before a big night – that's microwaves, toasters and kettles. There's plenty of seating in there, and we have a relaxed common room for chilling with a board game once you've eaten. Keen to make your family jealous of your adventures? No worries, hop on the free Wi-Fi and set up a video call.

The hostel was safe (had key access to the floor and the rooms), clean, and the staff were helpful. The event I went to was fun and a great chance to meet people (club night). Nothing to complain about!

Great place to stay in downtown Vancouver. Private room with ensuite was spacious, nice bathroom, old but clean. Staff and facilities all great except that the kitchen is very small.

We stayed in a private ensuite room which was a good size. Overall the hostel was nice enough - not many social spaces if that's what you're after but we didn't spend much time there anyway. Convenient location and wasn't too noisy. Cleanliness was generally good and we had clean towels left in our room. Free breakfast is pretty decent - you can help yourself to as much as you want of cereal, bagels, pastries etc. The staff were helpful and gave good local tips.

I stayed a few times with you, for me it's the best hostel in Vancouver ! The location is great, close from everything , just far enough from the crazyness to have peace. Mature vibe for the most, nice convivial kitchen.

The bed was alittle uncomfortable and definitely could hear the clubs across the street. Overall a good place to stay and it's in a great location.

Great location, you are close to all you need. A couple of the staff were super helpful, others really weren’t. Paid for a private double en-suite room, we had an extra single bed in, an inconvenience as we had lots of luggage and it took up space. It was very basic, very average washroom. We saw an actual en-suite double which was in much better condition, nice spacious bathroom - this is what we expected for what we paid.

Don't bother with hostels in Vancouver. They are all a rip off and for the same price you can get a 2-3 star hotel room. Lol 50$ a night for a dorm bed is joke, shame on the hostel owners and the city of Vancouver

Hi Vancouver Central was the worst Hostel experience I had in my entire life. I booked a private room for me and 2 friends, they gave us a dorm room saying it was "a private dorm", we payed for a private room that was better well looking on pictures and we got a terrible dorm room. The whole hotel smells like mold and our room was even worst. The hotel carpet is also dirty and stink. I asked for a clan up on my room and It was ignored. The breakfast is free because its just bread and coffee.
