Summary of traveller reviews

Hygie Hotel in Montreal offers a budget-friendly stay with private pods featuring lights and curtains. While some guests found the pods spacious and secure, others noted issues with cleanliness in common areas and bathrooms. The limited number of showers and toilets can lead to waits. Some travellers experienced problems with broken facilities and a lack of hot water.

The facilities here were awful - the was one working shower accessible for the whole hostel, which was broken (it was freezing cold). The smell of this place was diabolical, our clothes smelt even after we left. Also, to note, the lockers are separate from the rooms, so your belongings are not near if (if this is a concern for you), it meant that was no storage in the rooms. The toilets also smelt unbelievably bad - there was 2 accessible in the whole hostel.

I was apprehensive with so many bad reviews but it turned out alright. I just need a place to stay for one night and I didn’t want to spend a lot of money. No hot water.

Pros: - Location is close to downtown with excellent transit access - Cosmetic upgrading on the facility gave it a pleasant appearence - pod concept allows for greater privacy when asleep Cons - No kitchen facilities, which makes it difficult to prepare meals - Limited showers and bathrooms, place felt cramped - Staff not present at reception area - Common area was quite unclean
