Stayed here 2 nights in a dorm. First, it gets incredibly hot in the room, basically sweating all night and can’t spend time in the room. They put a single small fan that really does not do anything for ventilation, even when it’s chilly outside. For a Friday and Saturday, there really was no atmosphere. They have “events” that overlap each other, that I really didn’t see any other people participating. Staff were friendly and facility’s were clean. Overall felt like a hotel with dorms vibe.

The property was in a good location, within walking distance to every major attraction in the city. Well kept and good vibes. The staff was somewhat friendly but mostly felt like they were nonchalant and had an air of disregard for the guests. Had an interaction with one of them when I told them that I was unable to participate in their pub crawl bc of not having appropriate attire which was never mentioned to begin with and he started gaslighting and lying to me to avoid providing a refund.

I had a reservation for two nights and completed check-in, but the room was unbearably hot and simply not suitable for staying in. I spoke with reception, and they agreed that the temperature was a problem and mentioned they had received similar complaints from other guests. Unfortunately, the hostel was fully booked, so no alternative room was available. I had to cancel my stay and find a hotel at the last minute. Based on this experience, I would not recommend staying here.

Hostelworld says

Jacobs Inn is set near Connolly Station and Busaras, Dublin's main bus station, making this location convenient for travellers going to and from the rest of Ireland. This hostel has been with Hostelworld for more than a decade and guests frequently compare it favourably to a hotel. Visitors tell us the walking tour is a great way to hit the highlights of Dublin if you're only there for a short time. We like that all the rooms are ensuite and judging from the reviews it seems our guests do, too.
