Really lovely hostel to stay for our first night of the trip. Was a nice surprise to be offered free dinner and a beer too! The breakfast was amazing and always felt safe thanks to the staff. Atmosphere wasn’t too social but is a great place if you’re not looking for that!

This historic property has architectural origins in the late 18th century and later 19th century adaptations that give it its current character. The three-storey building is arranged around a central light well, with many original or early features still intact — including timber joinery, handrails, and stone stairs at one end. It’s a pleasure to walk through, and the tall ceilings create a generous sense of space. Highly recommended for travellers who enjoy staying in historic buildings.

If you're looking for a cheap + cheerful spot in CDMX this is perfect, especially for Día de Muertos. Pros: Super central for the parade, Zócalo, and day trips. Nicely decorated, friendly staff (especially Collin so helpful with metro tips and calls). Despite reviews, the background music (8 am–10 pm) wasn’t loud, even during festivities. Considerations: Basic repetitive breakfast. Not social. Our private loft room had no window and steep stairs to the loo. For trendier vibes, try Roma Norte
