Tucked away on Sri Lanka’s stunning coastline, Spindrift Weligama isn’t just a place to sleep – it’s a place to connect, explore, and create unforgettable memories. Designed for solo travellers who crave more than just a bed, we bring together adventurers from around the world in a vibrant, social atmosphere.

Spindrift Weligama opened in 2018 - made by backpackers for backpackers, for us, it has always been about bringing people together, making new friends & falling in love with Sri Lanka! We have;

Daily Social Events – From sunset sessions, trivia nights and beach bonfires to rice & curry dinners and pub crawls, there’s always something happening.

Community Vibes – Shared spaces designed for interaction: a cozy common room, communal dining, an open kitchen to cook and share recipes plus our sunset balcony where travel stories and cold beers are shared.

Adventure at Your Doorstep – Surf lessons at sunrise, cooking lessons, cultural tours, and wildlife safaris – we’ll help you experience the real Sri Lanka.

Party or Relax – Whether it’s dancing the night away on the beach, yoga sessions, or just sipping a cold drink by sunset, you’ll find your balance here.

💤 The Boring Part (But You’ll Thank Us Later)
We keep it chill, but here are a few details to make your stay smoother:
Check-in: From 2:00 PM onwards
Check-out: By 11:00 AM
DORMS: Our dorms are curtain free - designed for a friendly, open and social atmosphere - if this isn't your thing its perhaps better to book elsewhere 🤙

Cancellation Policy: Free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival (not check-in time). After that, a cancellation charge equal to two nights of your stay will be charged. Life happens — just give us a little heads-up!

Air Conditioning: Available in dorms from 5:00 PM to 12 midday (eco-friendly and perfect for cool nights 🌿) PLEASE NOTE; Our 4-Bed Dorm is FAN ONLY.

Quiet Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM (don’t worry, the hostel stays lively before then 🍻)

Reception Hours: 8:30 AM – 09:00 PM – but if you’re arriving late, just let us know in advance!
