This brand new St Christopher's Inns hostel in Edinburgh is close to everything you could possibly want to do in the city. Located in the beautiful Edinburgh Old Town, the new St Christopher's Inns lies just across the road from Waverley Station and a short walk away from Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile. You can walk pretty much everywhere from here so it's the perfect central location for backpackers. Party in the hostel's new and improved Belushi's Bar, make the most of hostel events such as Bar Crawls and Free Walking Tours and then have a good night's sleep after a busy day. We are only a 2 minute walk away from some of Edinburgh's best traditional pubs and bars in the medieval Old Town. This is the second St Christopher's Inns hostel to open in the Scottish capital, just opposite the original hostel.

This hostel boasts fresh airy rooms, brand new bathrooms and a contemporary look and feel throughout. You can find a mix of modern dorm rooms and private rooms which are all newly built and decorated. Each bed come fitted with USB ports, plug sockets and storage lockers. Did you know the hostel was once a former Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo office? There was even a top secret military safe left behind that has now been transformed into a contemporary new private room.

- Check-in starts at 2pm and check-out is at 10am.

City Tax: For bookings with a stay date of July 24th 2026 and after, a city tax of 5% (not included in the room rate) will be added to your balance for the first 5 nights of your stay.
This is a government regulation with which we have to comply.

Guests are required to show a physical, valid passport or UK driver's licence at check-in.

Age Restrictions
- Guests under the age of 18 must stay in a private room with guardians. They cannot share in general dormitory rooms with people who are not part of their own group or family. Under-18s are not allowed in the bars or pubs.

Payment
- Cash and most major bank cards are accepted. American Express credit cards are not accepted.
- Non-refundable reservations will be fully charged at the time of booking.

Smoking
- Smoking is prohibited in the building. Smoking areas are available outside.

Non-Refundable Rate
This reservation is non-refundable. The remaining balance of your stay may be charged at any time after the booking is confirmed.

Free Cancellation Rate
You may cancel your reservation free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled arrival date. In the event of a no-show or cancellation made within 24 hours of arrival, the full booking amount will be charged. The remaining balance of your stay may be charged within 24 hours of arrival.

Great breakfast and a good hostel to meet new people. Some of the toilets would not flush. They are very quick to send cleaners in and people to deal with any issues that arise. Verdict: Absolutely Avoid This establishment completely fails to provide the absolute bare minimum of human shelter: sleep and basic sanitation. Sleep & Rooms: Uninhabitable Chemical Mismanagement: Room 405 reeked of rotting feet. At 2:00 AM, staff sprayed a noxious aerosol that triggered coughing fits, forcing an hour-long evacuation.
