Another World Hostel

Welcome to AnotherWorld - We are a local team from Sigiriya, and we are probably not very good at giving people only a bed. Once you arrive, there is usually something happening.

A day at AnotherWorld can start before sunrise and finish with cricket or volleyball under the lights & stars.

We organise free hosted sunrise and sunset outings because these are some of our favourite parts of Sigiriya, and we enjoy sharing them with new people. The outing itself is free to join. If a place requires an entrance ticket or transport, we will explain the cost clearly before you decide to come.

During the day, we can also help you organise elephant jeep safaris, lake tours, village experiences, birdwatching, camping trips and visits to beautiful viewpoints around Sigiriya.

We are part of a big local community, so many of the drivers, guides and people we work with are people we know and trust. We will always tell you the price before confirming anything, and you are never under pressure to book an activity through us.

But AnotherWorld is not only about tours.

One of our favourite places is our outdoor playground. When everyone is up for it, we take some music, drinks and snacks and go there in the evening. The ground has lights, so we can play cricket, volleyball and other outdoor games even after dark.

Some people play seriously. Some people hold a cricket bat for the first time in their life. Both are welcome.

Our hostel is social, but nobody will push you to join everything. You can come for the adventures, meet people over dinner, play a game with us, or simply find a quiet place and relax.

A simple breakfast is included with your stay. Other meals, snacks and drinks are also available from our kitchen for an extra charge.

We have air-conditioned dorms, comfortable beds, lockers, charging points, Wi-Fi and hot showers. Privacy curtains are available in selected dorms, so please check the room details when choosing your bed.

We share the activity plan with guests after arrival, making it easy to see what is happening and join whenever you feel like it. Activities can change depending on the weather, park conditions and the number of people interested, but we will always help you make a good plan for your time in Sigiriya.

AnotherWorld is a good place for solo travellers, couples and friends who want to meet people, explore Sigiriya and do a little more than visit the famous rock.

Come as a guest. After a sunrise, a safari and maybe one slightly crazy cricket match, you may leave with a few new friends.
