Welcome to Colombo Beach Hostel — the oldest operating hostel in Sri Lanka, with over a decade of experience welcoming travellers from around the world.

Travelling solo? You’ll find it easy to meet people here while still having plenty of space to enjoy some quiet time when you want it. We’re particularly popular with independent travellers who enjoy connecting with others along the way.

Take a refreshing dip in our 20ft x 8ft pool — the perfect way to cool down after exploring Sri Lanka.

🚆 Convenient for Exploring Sri Lanka
We’re only around 5 minutes by tuk-tuk from Mount Lavinia Railway Station, giving you easy access to destinations across the island, including Jaffna and the southern coast — Weligama, Mirissa, Hiriketiya and beyond.

You don’t need to stay in Colombo city centre to explore Sri Lanka.

With reliable high-speed Wi-Fi and plenty of tables and seating, you can comfortably work from our rooftop or common areas.

🌺 Travelling Solo?

One of the best things about staying in a hostel is the people you meet along the way.

If you’re travelling solo — especially if this is your first time travelling independently in Sri Lanka — our common areas, rooftop and daily free family dinner at 7:30 PM give you an easy opportunity to meet other travellers, share experiences and perhaps find someone to continue your Sri Lankan adventure with.

And if you’d rather have some time to yourself, there’s plenty of space to do that too.
