CityRest - Fort

CityRest Fort is located at the heart of Colombo’s City Centre with easy access to the City’s main Bus and Train stations and offers clean and comfortable accommodation to budget conscious travelers and backpackers. The Motel comprises of 17 Quadruple and Triple Dorm rooms as well as Private bedrooms. All rooms are fully Air Conditioned and are additionally fitted with a ceiling fan for guests’ comfort. The rooms also include free high speed WiFi internet, individual reading lamps, large secure lockers, and a writing table. Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge at the Motel and each of our guests are also given a complimentary toiletry pack upon check-in with basic essentials such as shampoo, soap etc.

Common facilities at the Motel include a large common area with a comfortable sofa, a big screen TV with cable channels, DVD player with a large collection of movies, book library, public computer terminals with free Internet access as well as free WiFi access points for guests wishing to use their own devices. The Motel also comprises a large rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the World Trade Centre and the Colombo Dutch Hospital Promenade which is ideal for sunbathing in the afternoon or chilling out and socializing in the evenings.

Colombo Fort is a Tourist hub of Colombo and is home to many of the finest Restaurants and cafes serving up a variety of local and international cuisine at affordable prices. The area also comprises of the Famous ‘Dutch Hospital’ which is just a minute’s walk from the Motel and is a sprawling arcade of shops and boutiques selling everything from high end fashion and accessories to souvenirs and collectibles. The area is also a nightlife mecca with its many bars and nightclubs which attract scores of locals and foreigners to the area.

Fort is also the Financial and Business district of Colombo and is home to the World Trade Centre which houses the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE). The Galle Face Green Promenade which is the largest open air park in Colombo and the Galle Face Beach are also within a short walking distance from the Motel. Other notable buildings in and around the area include the President’s House, the old Houses of Parliament, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka as well as several other Government and administrative offices and landmarks.
