YAY Sustainable is a nature hotel and retreat center located between Tayrona Park and Ciudad Perdida, on the beautiful Colombian Caribbean coast, 45 km from Simón Bolívar International Airport in Santa Marta. We are nestled in the valley of the Guachaca river, at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, known by native cultures as 'The Heart of the World'.

We offer rooms with private bathrooms, a yoga shala, a farm-to-table restaurant, a jungle spa, a river beach, a natural pool, and a peaceful environment just 10 minutes from the beach.

To arrive, you can take a bus from Santa Marta's public market to Guachaca's bridge. From there, you can either walk 2 km to YAY or take a moto-taxi for $7,000 COP (less than $2 USD). We can also coordinate private transport for you at an additional cost.

Such an incredible hostel. Staff were amazing and all so friendly, the hostel itself is absoutely beautiful so many nice places to hang out. The room and the shower was the nicest room we've stayed in South America. Amazing food, and the best message I've ever had in my life! Highly recommend to come here and chill out for a couple of days. Love it

Such a special place! Absolutely beautiful property, delicious vegan food, and the best service I encountered in my entire time in Colombia. Special thanks to Osval who went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable! This place is an adventure - you are completely immersed in nature (which may mean you see the occasional tarantula, but it’s ok because the superb staff will help if you get scared like I did). I already miss the symphony of the jungle at night and hope to return to yay soon.

Special care for the enviroment with a subtle touch of architectural details with a lot of taste. Walking into the hotel is liking walking into paradise. It's absolutely beautiful and from the moment you arrive, the service is incredible. Every aspect is TOP. The food is not to be missed. Every member of the staff is attentive to your every need. The rooms are great (no TV so really allows you to disconnect into the peaceful feel of the jungle). We cannot wait to return!.
