Bondi Beach Backpackers had a really friendly vibe and a good outside communal area and kitchen. Unfortunately the rooms were very hot , extremely messy and cramped. Can’t necessarily fault other travellers as beds to close together and no storage ? Also charge extra for random things without telling you first. Good location on Bondi and good security though.

10/10 do not recommend. The workers are extremely rude/miserable, especially Elle. Check in was confusing and I never received the email with instructions I was meant to. They take a $100 bond and $2 per day for amenities? It took 2 days to get my $100 back. The walls are covered in weird signs making the whole place feel unwelcoming. You’ll be charged for a dirty pan or forgetting to bring your sheets down. It’s clear that the owner/workers are lazy and only care about making a buck.

My one-night stay at the hostel was great! The staff and security were a great value and I made at least one life-long friend! However, my room (#8) was in need of a bit of maintenance. The air con didn’t really work (it just blew air around), nor did the ceiling fan, so we didn’t get much relief from the humidity and heat even with the windows open). The staff did provide a plug-in fan, but it didn’t oscillate enough for everyone to get relief.
