At a short walking distance from the famous Old Town (Zona Velha), right in the heart of the city, is Funchal109.
Preserving its original architecture, this 19th century building stands proudly with its Coat of Arms at the foyer and original plaster ceiling panels displayed in some of the rooms. It has six bedrooms, three bathrooms, common areas and an outdoor patio, all refurbished with modern furniture.
Inserted in the Historic area of the city, it is located just minutes away from the seaside and the newer city center, as well as main points of interest such as Museums, Churches, Flower and Fish Market, the biggest Book Shop in Europe (over 100,000 exposed books!) and souvenir shops of exclusive Portuguese manufacture.
The hostess - Rosa - a local Certified Mountain Guide and passionate about local culture, will surely provide you with all the information for hikes and tours, as well as things to do and see around Funchal. When you do not have a car at hand, she will recommend car rental or point out the buses to take across the Island.
Small and cozy, Funchal109 is the ideal place for ramblers, art and culture lovers or anyone looking for a quiet place to start the journey discovering Madeira.

- The Property reserves the right to pre-authorize cards in order to confirm the booking. In the event of a problem with pre-authorization or insufficient funds available, the property reserves the right to immediately cancel the booking;
- Full amount of booking will be charged from 5 days before arrival date. For no show or late cancellation, you will be charged the full amount of your stay;
- City Tax payable on arrival (2€ per night per person, 7 days maximum of charge)
Please pay attention:
- According to Article 45 of the Schengen Agreement and Alojamento Local law in Portugal, all guests most provide ID details prior to check in;
- Detailed self check in instructions sent via whatsapp. Guests are requested to reach the Property before arrival;
- Reception with limited hours;
- Not suitable for toddlers or babies;
- No smoking anywhere in the premisses;
- No parties allowed;
- No unregistered/visit guests allowed without management consent;
- No pets allowed;
- No curfew;
- Laundry Service at additional cost;
- Extra Towels at additional cost;
- Failure to deliver padlock and/or key will result in additional cost.
