Decent enough place. Very loud etc, kinda a constant party if you’re into that you’ll like it. Didn’t feel particularly social though mostly people that stay there long term.

Some money could go into this place. Starting with new beds. Probably the worst mattress in a hostel I’ve stayed at in all of Australia. The place smelled awful. Mix of BO, chemicals and a mildewy smell. The rooms are tiny and even though the lockers are decent sized they don’t fit most backpacks or suitcases. Staff were kind. Kitchen fridges were jammed full and no where to really go for more introverted people. If you’re an older traveler it will feel like a college dorm. Would not recommend

I’ve stayed at Mom pre covid days few times when named Melaleuca YHA, still a vibrant friendly place for all. After being an avid lucky traveller worldwide Mom is one of the top stays. Tx.
