Cleanest place in China that I've been. Girls bathrooms were cleaned at least twice a day, of course there's some hair on the floor that's just how hair works. NO cigarette smell anywhere and the rooms were PRISTINE. The 8 girls room is really well made with a huge locker inside. If you need more room they are some extra outside. Really helpfull staff from touristing to helping you ordering food. It's a tiny bit away from the metro, but less than 10 min and a nice noodle place on the way there.

Nice place! Clean, friendly staff, affordable. The hostel is a short walk from the Metro which will take you all over Beijing. There are some really good and cheap food spots within a few minutes walk too. I was out exploring all the time so can’t speak for the social atmosphere. I found it difficult to find on maps initially. Search for “Youwai Mansion” on Amaps to find it easily.
