Disappointing experience — poor management, security and service Unfortunately, my experience at this hostel was disappointing from the beginning. When I arrived to check in, the reception staff told me to wait because the next-shift staff member would arrive soon and she would complete my check-in. it was a good place to stay for work but definitely not for someone looking for vacation. i had 2 roommates who smelled horrible but thats not the hostels fault but definitely effected my experience. Not flushing toilet paper made the bathrooms a little grose and the showers could definitely do a remodel but i was happy enough for my price paid.

Love!! Stayed for a weekend trip and The Rumi was a wonderful little hostel. Clearly a repurposed old house, the bathroom and kitchen setup is quirky, you have to rent a towel (only $2; I realized this too late and used the provided blanket lol), but... overall great value! Huge luggage lockers, basic breakfast, functional setup, AC in rooms. No complaints. Amazing location too; a short walk to anywhere in Ktown and the D line, which is surprisingly great for LA transit!
