The absolute worst night of my life. Upon arrival the owner requested nearly double the advertised price. The room itself was dirty. THE WORST PART WAS SECURITY AND SAFETY. Someone failed to lock the gate to the hostel which resulted in someone knocking on our private asking us to come out. We proceeded to hear people walking past our room and stopping in front of our door. There was no number online to contact the owner for safety purposes. Owner did not take responsibility or have sympathy.

Terrible place. Reception dude was about 100 years old and very rude. I pre-booked the place and when I got there he said he didn't have any idea about me. I even have him booking reference and everything but he just kept saying he had nothing on me, yet he didn't even check.

I strongly recommend this hostel for anyone looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience. Rooms accommodate all your needs to enjoy your stay. The location is great and ensures you will bump into all the friends you make on your vacation as you make your way to the beach to surf. It’s also a plus the Owner is super chill and makes you feel at home. 10 stars! Pura Vida!
