Makalu is an amazing hostel! Clean, delicious free breakfast, friendly and helpful staff make this the best option for hostels in huaraz. You can book any kind of trek or outing you would like through the staff and it’s all affordable. Beautiful rooftop terrace with a view. George who works there is the man he cooks a mean breakfast and was very very helpful for everything we needed. We will miss makalu and will definitely stay here next time in huaraz.

Great hostel! Really friendly staff and a great breakfast included. Stayed here before and after the Huayhuash trek and they looked after my luggage for a small fee. Loved the rooftop too - would recommend for anyone staying in Huaraz!

I loved staying at Makalu, my stuff always felt safe, the amenities were reliable and bathrooms were always clean. The staff is very friendly and breakfast is good! PS the sandwiches are gas.
