The Humpback Turtle

Beautiful hostel in an amazing location. El Valle is an incredible experience. The Hostel is so special, right on the beach. Patricia was the sweetest host. However some of the other staff members were quite rude, impatient and unhelpful. There a three meals a day, but the food is expensive and there’s only one small shop in town so be prepared for that. The kitchen is very basic. Beautiful to sleep in the jungle by the ocean but of course expects all the bugs and animal friends that come with.

Would give this hostel 10 stars for the location, price and daytime staff, however we did not anticipate this hostel turning into a trance rave every evening from 5pm to (some nights) 6am the next day. The free breakfast slaps and the meals and experiences are well worth your money. The staff who are not from Bahia Solano treat it a bit like their own private party as it’s only them staying up each night. If you’re put in the dorm by the kitchen ask to move. Otherwise Bahia Solano is paradise.

Incredible hostel located right on Playa Almejal! Julian, Paula, Geraldine and the rest of staff were incredibly friendly and the hostel just had an incredible vibe! Would definitely come back.
