Booked 3 bed room. Apparently 3 bed room in USA = 1 double bed and 1 single bed. Double bed was barely any bigger than single bed. They only mention this "bed configuration" in the small print of your booking confirmation. Breakfast was decent and free shuttle was provided to and from airport. Surrounding area is a dump. Wouldn't bother exploring the area especially after dark. All sorts going on. Overall, price is a con when you dont even get enough beds to sleep on. Wouldn't go back.

great value for small money don´t be afraid that it might be far away from Manhattan. the metro costs only 2.25 and it is only a couple of minutes further away but is way cheaper for a proper hotel. enjoy ! and dont forget the "unlimited ride"-metro for 30 $ for unlimited use for 7 days. then the trip is even more worthy

I was not very impressed with the locking system with the room we were in. At least 9 out of the 12 days we could not access the room as the machine wouldnt accept both cards to the room. Also, the door felt like it didnt close properly. The location was about 20minutes from the city centre, which didnt bother me, however the area is not very good-while we were there someone had thrown a firebomb and caused problems. free breakfast was great and the room was clean & exceeded my expectations

- rude people above all cleaning ladies, furthermore, most of the staff doesn't speak English, no communication was possible. - in bedroom, they stole our towel (only cleaning ladies have access so...). - bathtub and toilet never cleaned. When we arrived, there was red hair on the seat (we both have brown hair....). - not profitable stay, we paid almost 400 dollars for 4 days with such horrible service.

Whole place smelled like smoke, the bathroom had been updated recently but the bedroom was dingy. Staff was not very nice.

The Hostel was clean, convenient and adequate. Excellent location (near the direct subway line to the Manhattan) and Shuttle to the Airport at 5 30 which took only 20 minutes in the morning was very helpful I l will gladly stay there again and recommend to my friends.

Very nice, clean and safe place. Location is a bit far from the center, but the connection is good - 35 min to get in Manhattan. Totaly without problems - I can recommend it honestly.

You'll end up paying almost double and worry about walking around the location at night.

For the price, this is a great deal. It's a short subway hop away from Midtown, is very clean, and the price can't be beat. I would recommend it.

We stayed two nights in this hostel and it was pretty nice. The staff is welcoming and helpful, the rooms are safe and clean and the breakfast was awesome. The neighbourhood was not cool (but there are a lot of fast food which is nice when you come back after a day of tourism) and even if the metro station is close, it will take you 45mn to go to Manhattan.

Hostel is clean and room with bathroom are nice, big and very cheap. The negative aspect of the hostel is the location. If you are just with girls then i would not recommend it because, even if the hotel is quite close to the metro to Manhattan, the area there is populated of unfriendly faces. Still i think that quality/price is positive. Inside there is no trip-activity organized and the breakfast area is way too small. The shuttle service to JFK is great and it costs you a small tip for driver

Be prepared to pay local tax on top of what you are quoted at hostelworld.com. Besides that its just a regular Super8 hotel not a hostel.

Our friend was allowed to stay for no extra charge. Area was very dodgy-didnt feel safe outside the hostel. Inside was fine. Lots of food places around and helpful staff with a free airport transfer. Was advised by staff not to drink the water which was a pain, but there were two shops across the street where we could buy food and water. A guy in the lobby expressed his suprise that two young white girls were staying here, which made us uneasy. Would stay again if had nothing better.

We were very happy about this hostel. Best points : clean, close to a subway station, the free airport shuttle to JFK airport, breakfast included. Slight disadvantage : far from Manhattan (almost 1h subway)

This place is in Queens far from Manhattan and main attractions but very close to subway (approx 30 min to city). Very close to JKF airport anyway. Excellent and very helpful staff, Free airport pickup. It's the ideal place if you like me you just need to stay for a night before catching a plane from JKF. Very good breakfast, the room was clean, free wifi. You have 3-4 fast food very close open till very late so you dont have to starve even if you arrive late at night. Good place in general
