The staff and everything were really nice but you could barely fit two people in the room and we got no sleep because of the construction workers next door (the windows are old dont open them!!!!)

This is a budget hotel not a hostel. There is no hostel atmosphere which is what we wanted Some members of staff were unhelpfull. Internet is limited to 500 mb for your hole duration and never really worked anyway. We stayed in a number of rooms which were all clean but beds were uncomfortable. Showers are poor. On the up side it is a great location. I would not stay here again.

Our stay at the Claremont Guesthouse was fantastic! The rooms were clean and cozy and the staff was helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend the Claremont to anyone who doesn\'t want to spend a lot on lodging...great value for the price!!

Really nice hostel, staff were always happy to help. In the morning it was really nice to find breakfast included. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne. Just next to the South Yarra station and within 10 mins of city centre (by train).

The hostel location are really accessible from the train station. Toilet cleanliness are really excellent. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. There are food stores and mini cafes just a distance away. It\'s a nice and good location to stay in.

For this being mine, and my boyfriends first time travelling out of country.. The Claremont Guest House gave us the perfect stepping stone of comfort leaving home. The staff were absolutely amazing, the bathrooms were always beyond clean.. it\'s in a great location, DEFINITELY take a walk to the Botanic Gardens! Just everything about my stay here was to rave about, I definitely suggest making this your first stop if you\'re backpacking in Melbourne!!

Very friendly stuff! Location not bad but unfortunately not very close to the center of the city. Very clean and great service (free coffee and tea 24h and fresh milk!)

Our room felt a bit small, but the showers and common room were big enough to make up for this in a big way.

A nice clean place in a very good locatio a stone's throw from South Yarra Station, Chapel St and few other things. Clean, nice common areas. Other comments have mentioned the smallness of the rooms but I didn't find mine too bad, not big but adequate and probably what you'd expect in Melbourne at the price I paid. A few little gripes include a very weak shower spray in all the bathrooms I used ( incidentally there are plenty of them so sharing was not an issue ) and very sketchy WiFi from room

A lovely hostel situated in a really great part of the city. Twin room was a little small but very clean, with a TV and towels provided. Great breakfast in the morning (toast, cereal, tea) and bathrooms very clean. Staff were extremely helpful and very polite. Only downside is the lack of cooking facilities for making your own dinner etc, but because it's located in a very vibrant part of the city there are loads of places to eat out. Great value room and would definitely stay there again!

Very good location, very clean and nice environment. The breakfast is good. It would be better if fire or electronic heater is provided for cooking.

Great, old-style guesthouse in keeping with the feel of the city. The location was interesting and public transport into the central city and beyond was very easy.

Lovely cleen hostel, really friendly and helpful staff. Hostel was very noisy the first night we stayed there from about 2am-3.30 we were in a double room so maybe close to a dorm, such a shame as lovely hostel

GOOD HOSTEL. It's a very delicate hostel, besides, the staff are very helpful and nice when we need some help for our trip. It's the hostel not in the central business area but located in a very relaxing area and near station just in 3mins.
