Hostel was good and in a good area. The staff were good although seem to be lacking in the odd smile.

Rooms are a bit more cramped than what I'm used to, but I'm spoiled because my last hostel experience was in portland. Had a nice breakfast spread of bagels, muffins, coffee, and juice. Made a few new friends and enjoyed the pub crawl.

The place was perfect for our intention to explore the city, being close to food, entertainment, attractions & tours. The front desk staff were excellent. They saved us a lot of time and money by organising tours and tips. Recommended for budget-conscious and non-fuzzy travellers. The only minus point is when we saw a kitchen staff running off several liters of water from the faucet, waiting for warm water, to fill up a 4-liter urn. What a waste of precious water! Thanks from Edgar & Perla

VERY nice staff, helpful, friendly, competent and still fun. Stayed there for three times during our three week trip in Canada. Was totally worth it!

Wonderful hostel. If you want to party your head off, go to Samesun across the street. If you want to sleep at night (well, ask for a room at the back of the building), have a clean building with private bathrooms and showers, come here. Free breakfast. (One complaint, though, the breakfast staff were not always on the ball about restocking basic things like whole-wheat bread, but at least they fetched things when they were asked to.) Lockers. Helpful receptionists. Free coffee. Fantastic!

First of all. My room was probably the worst in the whole hostel. I booked a mixed 4 bed dorm. But I was in a very small and dirty male only 4 bed dorm. When I checked in the guy with the glasses and the dark hair at the front desk was maybe the most unfriendly person that I ever met. Kitchen is too small. Just a microwave available. The comunityroom doesn't deserve that name. Bathrooms are ok. But anyway. This hostel ist too expensive! I would not go there again!

This is a good hostel - good beds, clean, secure. The only thing I would suggest is a bigger breakfast room.

Great location if you want to be right downtown. Very clean beds, comfy too. I didn't do any pub crawls or anything, but there isn't too much of a social vibe just hanging out in the common rooms. At peak shower time u might have to wait (8-9) but only for a couple minutes. I agree there needs to be more space for breakfast - people were sitting on the floor. free towels!

Excellent hostel! :D Loved it, honestly I expected a lot less, but it was amazing, cool and nice front desk people, safety, everything was clean, great! Just the wooden floors made a lot of noise :P But other than that it was perfect!

This place was fine, that pretty much sums it up. Nothing special. If I was to return to Vancouver I would probably stay at the other HI, the one Downtown. They were a block back from the main street so a bit quieter, and have an awesome commercial kitchen. Central kitchen is just fridges and a microwave. Plus it was it was in pretty noisy part of town, gross party people at all hours. Fun for like one night but gets old really quickly.

I was very impressed. I enjoyed having a nutritious breakfast with a person from Switzerland. I learned about Switzerland, he learned about Canada. These cultural exchanges are invaluable. The hostel is very well located. It was only three blocks to where I needed to go and the sky train was only a short walk to take me to the bus lines to take me to Vancouver Island. The hostel staff was very helpful in answering my questions

Good hostel in a great location downtown. Close enough to walk everywhere, as I did, plenty of travel/tourist info from friendly staff. Free breakfast which is always a bonus for hostel travellers. Would be better if it had a full kitchen, the "express" kitchen only consists of microwave and toasters. But I would both recommend and stay here again.

Perfectly located a short stroll from the Vancouver City Centre Station on the Canada Line going directly all the way to the airport, less practical if you arrive by car, though. Breakfast is free from 8 to 10 AM. Free WiFi. Staff helpful and efficient. Private rooms spacious and clean. The private rooms at the back are actually quite quiet. I preferred it to the HI on Jericho Beach, which is way out, but nicely located (not on the beach, though - a few minutes away).

- - very loud all the night long because of all this night clubs and pubs just in front of it. always so many drunk people in the street. very poor isolation of windows. aircondit is loud as well (I'm not used to the sound at all) and makes it impossible to close the windows. - no real kitchen to cook, just microwave. + very helpful and friendly staff, thanks. ++ free wi-fi
